I've been waiting for it for months now and they kept releasing teasers and prequels and finally it's here!<br />
<br />
It pretty much jumps straight into the death of the Waynes'....and is it terrible or what?! Poor little Batman (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3458761/?ref_=tt_cl_t6">David Mazouz</a>) It's goddamn devastating. I wonder how much we will see him in this considering it's meant to be more an origin story of Commissioner Gordon (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1360270/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Ben McKenzie</a>). Imagine copping the Wayne's as a first case in Gotham? Worst luck ever. Gordon's partnered up with Harvey Bullock (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0006610/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Donal Logue</a>) who is this hard-ass gristled old detective who's been jaded by the job... and what a job Gotham looks like!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0_DFSr28cRs/VCFmZ12YblI/AAAAAAAAHiM/p5JWHhBOqH8/s1600/penguin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0_DFSr28cRs/VCFmZ12YblI/AAAAAAAAHiM/p5JWHhBOqH8/s1600/penguin.jpg" height="121" width="200" /></a>We see some classic characters like the opening scene with Cat Woman (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4800564/?ref_=tt_cl_t14">Camren Bicondova</a>) that we've seen a million times now, and a young Poison Ivy, plus of course, Alfred! I love the choice of actor, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0675730/?ref_=tt_cl_t4">Sean Pertwee</a> who you might know as Lestrade from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2191671/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_4">Elementary</a></i>. Fish Mooney (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000586/?ref_=tt_cl_t5">Jada Pinkett Smith</a>) is not in the comics but I like the character. I'd probably like her better if Oswald (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2088699/?ref_=tt_cl_t7">Robin Taylor</a>) wasn't standing next to her when we first saw her. I have a feeling his performance will be very similar to <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0778831/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t7">Andrew Scott</a>'s (Moriarty) in <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1475582/">Sherlock</a></i>: Amazing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XHVTxtd_S94/VCFnEZx8CsI/AAAAAAAAHic/5F8H_W51wt8/s1600/batman.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XHVTxtd_S94/VCFnEZx8CsI/AAAAAAAAHic/5F8H_W51wt8/s1600/batman.jpg" height="138" width="200" /></a></div>
It'd probably be better if they hadn't tried so hard to get those artsy shots. I mean it looks good but it also looks a little pretentious. I'm also a little annoyed that they showed us most of the first episode with all the little teasers and prequel things. I think the thing I mostly liked about this show is the idea of this being Batman's town but I always give shows a few episodes before I decide whether I enjoy them or not, sooo:<br />

I really should be studying but I thought I'd whip out a quick blog post. *cough* procrastination *cough*<br />
<br />
When I first started this, I remember I bagged it out a bit... and I stick by that. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000881/">Michael Bay</a> (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418279/?ref_=nm_knf_i1"><i>Transformers</i></a>) is well known for destroying lots of things in big bada booms but maybe he read <a href="http://geeoh108.blogspot.com.au/2014/07/tv-last-ship-se1-ep4.html">my blogpost</a> because I think there has only been one explosion since then.<br />
<br />
So after I got over the Michael Bay explosions stuff, I was wondering how long they would be able to drag out this story line: there is only so long that an audience will think finding a cure is entertaining. I thought a season, maybe two. Man, was I surprised when they found it so quick! So then I started wondering what would they do next season, especially after they knocked out the Russians... that was the one explosion I was talking about by the way.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6O1nfpSIxQI/U__3Whs4ZOI/AAAAAAAAHhk/vuu8mJuhdIY/s1600/adam%2Bbaldwin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6O1nfpSIxQI/U__3Whs4ZOI/AAAAAAAAHhk/vuu8mJuhdIY/s1600/adam%2Bbaldwin.jpg" height="200" width="133" /></a></div>
I have to say, the last few episodes have had me pleasantly surprised. I quite enjoyed them... nothing too fabulous but entertaining. I am really annoyed at the XO (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000284/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Adam Baldwin</a>) for giving up the ship so easily... seriously, these guys are trained Navy and they can't disarm one man at close range? They stormed the goddamn Russian vessel to get the Captain (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0199312/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Eric Dane</a>) back and they can't take their own ship back? Come on!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1L71IXXdAYk/U__2W3vOkHI/AAAAAAAAHhc/psITrhDj5Tw/s1600/last%2Bship.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1L71IXXdAYk/U__2W3vOkHI/AAAAAAAAHhc/psITrhDj5Tw/s1600/last%2Bship.jpg" height="144" width="200" /></a>They had the cure and now they've lost Doctor Scott (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0593961/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Rhona Mitra</a>) to the corrupt government who is killing people, and Quincy (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0819874/?ref_=tt_cl_t10">Sam Spruell</a>) was shot when the ship was taken, so there goes the cure for now. Tex (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0701561/?ref_=tt_cl_t9">John Pyper-Ferguson</a>) has gone walkabout, will he double back to rescue the Doc? I think so. The Captain finally found his family but now he's lost the ship and crew, what will he do by himself? Also, the 'War Lords' led by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0920038/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t62">Titus Welliver</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1024648/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_11">Argo</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1442462/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_19">The Good Wife</a></i>), good or bad?<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Ok, nice set up for the next season.<br />

I've been saying to the little sister since this last season began that everyone would die... well, that didn't happen. As soon as Eric (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002907/?ref_=tt_cl_t9">Alexander Skarsgard</a>) was cured I realised there would be a stereotypical happy ending. I was actually terribly disappointed in the finale: it felt like they had just tacked an ending onto a normal episode, like they had only been given two episodes to wrap it all up instead of an entire season.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CRm8o4mC3UA/U_1aHxsxNII/AAAAAAAAHgk/ZFUIfI85owc/s1600/TB.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CRm8o4mC3UA/U_1aHxsxNII/AAAAAAAAHgk/ZFUIfI85owc/s1600/TB.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a></div>
Highlights were the Eric and Ginger (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0118427/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t23">Tara Buck</a>) finally getting it on, Bill (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0610459/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t2">Stephen Moyer</a>) splooshing all over Sookie (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0610459/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t2">Anna Paquin</a>), Pam (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0061877/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t11">Kristin Bauer van Straten</a>) and Eric's infomercial for New Blood and Lafayette (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1734700/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t7">Nelson Ellis</a>) and James (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1452155/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t58">Nathan Parsons</a>). *swoons* Points of annoyance: Alcide (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0542133/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t15">Joe Manganiello</a>) copping it to the head - I know, not this episode but it still stings! - Jessica (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2832695/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t10">Deborah Ann Woll</a>) and Hoyt's (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1747924/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t13">Jim Parrack</a>) whirlwind wedding... how did that make any sense? Oh, Hoyt, by the way, we used to date but I screwed your best friend and then made you forget all about it... now let's get married before my maker keels over: true love! And the ending... ugh!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H9aZoFwMqZ0/U_1b0p4YvyI/AAAAAAAAHg0/p3LjoAp9kw0/s1600/newlins.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H9aZoFwMqZ0/U_1b0p4YvyI/AAAAAAAAHg0/p3LjoAp9kw0/s1600/newlins.jpg" height="140" width="200" /></a></div>
Special mention of the reappearance of show favourites: Nan Stackhouse (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0809135/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t54">Lois Smith</a>) and Steve Newlin (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0573354/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t17">Michael McMillan</a>).<br />
<br />
Now that it's all over I have to find a new show to have family date nights with...<br />
<br />
<b>2 out of 5 naked Eric's...cos why the hell not?! Umph...</b><br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Holy crapballs! It's almost here! The final installment of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2310332/">The Hobbit</a></i>, titled <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2310332/">The Battle of the Five Armies</a></i>! I am beyond excited about this. When we were travelling a couple of years ago, I read <i><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5907.The_Hobbit?from_search=true">The Hobbit</a></i> aloud to my husband, who had never read it, on the millions of hours of flights we had. We finished it a few days before the first film was released and of course we went and saw it right away. The hubs is the most annoying person when it comes to book to movie adaptations. He spent most of the film whispering to me, "That's not how it happened in the book!" Now you know how I feel with every adaptation ever, my love. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LP3-6zRhEso/U9swh-mmDVI/AAAAAAAAHgA/6ZDkobzSoVQ/s1600/smaug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LP3-6zRhEso/U9swh-mmDVI/AAAAAAAAHgA/6ZDkobzSoVQ/s1600/smaug.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a>Anyway, no matter the discrepancies, you cannot discount the amazement that is the battle scenes in these films and my goodness are we going to get it with this one! I've been looking forward to it since The Hobbit was announced! You think TLOR was epic with its battles? Wait until you see this one! Not only is there Smaug (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1212722/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Benedict Cumberbatch</a>) to deal with, but there's Azog (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0071847/?ref_=tt_cl_t9">Manu Bennett</a>) and his orc armies (which were not in the book), the men of Dale's claim on the legendary treasure and Thorin Oakenshield's (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0035514/?ref_=tt_cl_t6">Richard Armitage</a>) greed and pride, and finally the Elves... so much stuff! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

Nice to see the heavy presence of Bard of Dale played by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1812656/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t23">Luke Evans</a> who I've just noticed has been cast for a remake of one of my favorite films, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109506/?ref_=tt_rec_tt">The Crow</a></i>. Will there be more necromancer story line and will they use that to explain how Sauron (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1019674/?ref_=tt_cl_t5">Sala Baker</a>) managed to come back? I think so! What do I most want to see? More of my favorite character, Beorn (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0675409/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t19">Mikael Persbrandt</a>)! More Gandalf (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005212/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t10">Ian McKellen</a>) saving some hobbit ass and my second favorite wizard, the quirky Radagast (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0566809/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t24">Sylvester McCoy</a>). Legolas (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0089217/?ref_=tt_cl_t8">Orlando Bloom</a>) looking pretty as pie and beating the crapola out of Bieber... I mean, orcs... yeah, orcs. And the Eagles! </div>

<br />
I started watching this show because I heard that season 2 was coming, it's a Netflix so seasons come out all in one go (love that!) and because I'd run out of decent shows to watch... if you have any suggestions, let me know! I'll be reviewing anime soon... ha!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0TGBISvtEjo/U8dpD0Q02jI/AAAAAAAAHfI/sZUK7qdGGi4/s1600/destiny.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0TGBISvtEjo/U8dpD0Q02jI/AAAAAAAAHfI/sZUK7qdGGi4/s1600/destiny.jpg" height="158" width="200" /></a></div>
Anyway, this show confused the hell out of me at first. I kept thinking I was missing things but I'm pretty sure that's just the way the show is. I'd heard a few whispers about werewolves and vampires but I didn't see any for the first few episodes and thought I must have heard wrong... then I saw the above clip... WOW! I literally stood up and cheered. I am so glad they did the werewolf thing right. No cheese, all gross: fantastic! I spent the rest of the season waiting to see the change again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jks52vAkHos/U8dqWedqPUI/AAAAAAAAHfc/ETY3yCgKd3s/s1600/famke.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jks52vAkHos/U8dqWedqPUI/AAAAAAAAHfc/ETY3yCgKd3s/s1600/famke.jpg" height="200" width="127" /></a></div>
I love that they've used Gypsies instead of witches, witches are so overdone. In fact, the way this is written, scripted and filmed is done so well that none of the supernatural elements are lame, as we see in most shows of the same genre. Add in <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000463/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Famke Janssen</a> (Jean Grey from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120903/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">X-Men</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0803889/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Bill Skarsgard</a> (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002907/">Alexander Skarsgard</a>'s little brother), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2334994/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Landon Liboiron</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1641349/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_6">Terra Nova</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0288937/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Degrassi</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000666/?ref_=tt_cl_t13">Lili Taylor</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2654580/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_2">Almost Human</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0146882/?ref_=nm_knf_i4">High Fidelity</a></i>), a mostly unknown yet surprisingly fantastic cast, and we have a pretty darn awesome show!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k-HCc1ucE2I/U8dokD_Vp_I/AAAAAAAAHfA/fK03_WE6msg/s1600/peter+roman.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k-HCc1ucE2I/U8dokD_Vp_I/AAAAAAAAHfA/fK03_WE6msg/s1600/peter+roman.png" height="200" width="200" /></a>I especially love the tense bromance between Peter (Liboiron) and Roman (Skarsgard). I wasn't sure whether they were going to rip each other apart or tear each others' clothes off... please go with second one! I'm also enjoying the Gypsy lore featuring Peter's cousin Destiny (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1503416/?ref_=tt_cl_t8">Kaniehtiio Horn</a>), the whole mystery of who/what/where Roman's sister Shelley (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5580792/?ref_=tt_cl_t10">Nicole Boivin</a>) came from, and what exactly is Roman supposed to be!?<br />
<br />
I figured out who the killer was in the first few episodes but that main plotline wasn't what kept me watching... and I kept changing my mind back and forth. This show is full of mysteries! Stay tuned for season 2 review...<br />

<br />
I've had this movie sitting around for a while now, something about the preview made me not too keen to watch it right away. Wow it was amazing, I can't stop thinking about it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Meyswc6FAoM/U8dJpIQ6KSI/AAAAAAAAHeE/D5uez59y-lo/s1600/oldboy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Meyswc6FAoM/U8dJpIQ6KSI/AAAAAAAAHeE/D5uez59y-lo/s1600/oldboy.jpg" height="149" width="200" /></a></div>
This <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000490/?ref_=tt_ov_dr">Spike Lee</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104797/?ref_=nm_knf_i2">Malcolm X</a></i>) remake from the hugely popular 2003 Korean movie of the same name starts off pretty average. Joe (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000982/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Josh Brolin</a>) is an ignorant drunk until one morning he wakes up from a bender to find he's been kidnapped and held prisoner with no explanation. His only company is a small television set from which he discovers that he's been framed for the murder of his ex-wife. After being held captive for 20 years with no visitors, he is suddenly and mysteriously let go. He has only a few days to figure out who captured him and held him for 20 years and why, or they will kill his daughter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IbGqDlEZUYY/U8dMehms3qI/AAAAAAAAHeQ/J2U76w26-_w/s1600/sam+l.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IbGqDlEZUYY/U8dMehms3qI/AAAAAAAAHeQ/J2U76w26-_w/s1600/sam+l.jpg" height="100" width="100" /></a></div>
I really, really want to give away the twist that made this movie so awesome...but that would spoil it. Go and watch it, it's totally worth it. One of the most underrated films I've watched lately. Also, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0647634/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Elizabeth Olsen</a>'s (younger sister to the Olsen twins) boobs and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000168/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Samuel L. Jackson</a> as a bad guy! Special mentions to <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0714698/?ref_=tt_cl_t12">Lance Reddick</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1119644/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Fringe</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411008/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_31">Lost</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0408284/?ref_=tt_cl_t5">Michael Imperioli</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0141842/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Sopranos</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0904208/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_5">Californication</a></i>).<br />

This is a <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000881/">Michael Bay</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418279/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Transformers</a></i>) show, so we already know that it's America leading the charge to save the world (somehow), complete with awesome explosions and big guns! I've been watching lots of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0437745/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Robot Chicken</a></i> lately and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7ssUivM-eM">this skit</a> they did made me laugh so hard!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SbOZf4lOE1k/U8Syv7G4BNI/AAAAAAAAHdk/B3r9ny3rBHQ/s1600/last+ship+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SbOZf4lOE1k/U8Syv7G4BNI/AAAAAAAAHdk/B3r9ny3rBHQ/s1600/last+ship+1.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a>It's yet another dystopian... This ship has been out in the Arctic for three months with no radio contact with anyone. When they finally try to contact the mainland, there is no response. While they've been away a disease has spread throughout the world killing almost everyone. Lucky for humankind, a scientist was on the ship and she has a way to engineer a cure... eventually.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rNwAtJSGK_Q/U8Sy3NFH_JI/AAAAAAAAHds/mLy9FtZV1Bs/s1600/last+ship.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rNwAtJSGK_Q/U8Sy3NFH_JI/AAAAAAAAHds/mLy9FtZV1Bs/s1600/last+ship.jpg" height="112" width="200" /></a>It's not all that fabulous. Lots of America is the world power and will win the battle kind of stuff. The only couple of actors I recognise are <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000284/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Adam Baldwin</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0303461/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_48">Firefly</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0199312/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Eric Dane</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0413573/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_3">Grey's Anatomy</a></i>)... although it took me a while to realise that <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0593961/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Rhona Mitra</a> was not <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000295/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Kate Beckinsale</a> though she did star in one of the <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0834001/?ref_=nv_sr_4">Underworld</a></i> films.<br />
<br />
It's been a month, they've replenished their food and arms but now the ship is falling apart and they're running out of water... Other than that, not a lot seems to happen and I'm not sure where they will go with this show or if I will actually keep watching it. Also, not as many explosions as I would expect of Michael Bay...<br />
<br />

I love X-Men... need I say more? I don't think so but of course I will...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RRfhDpHWGUo/U8Sb5uUlYDI/AAAAAAAAHco/dTvifa5Dus0/s1600/Xmen.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RRfhDpHWGUo/U8Sb5uUlYDI/AAAAAAAAHco/dTvifa5Dus0/s1600/Xmen.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a></div>
So many awesome characters, so many awesome actors. We got to see everyone we wanted to see, even if the main X-Men we're used to didn't get that much screen time. I'm a little peeved <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001593/?ref_=tt_cl_t7">Anna Paquin</a> got cut to a bare 3 seconds at the end of the film but I'm sure we will see more Rogue in the extras when the DVD is released. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0039162/?ref_=tt_cl_t10">Shawn Ashmore</a> as Bobby/Iceman, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1214436/?ref_=tt_cl_t14">Daniel Cudmore</a> as Collossus, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1559927/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t17">Booboo Stewart</a> as Warpath, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1395771/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t21">Lucas Till</a> as Havok... and I haven't even brought out the big guns yet!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bBmbMAjtrHI/U8ScVDvokwI/AAAAAAAAHcw/HAW1cU25dX8/s1600/xmen+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bBmbMAjtrHI/U8ScVDvokwI/AAAAAAAAHcw/HAW1cU25dX8/s1600/xmen+2.jpg" height="112" width="200" /></a></div>
So the story revolves around Wolverine (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0413168/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t1">Hugh Jackman</a>) of course. I have no idea where Kitty (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0680983/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t8">Ellen Page</a>) got the send-someone-back-in-time power from. Did she have that in the comics? I can't remember... But anyway, she sends Logan back because apparently he's the only one who can handle it. Young Xavier, played by the amazing <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1877832/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast">James McAvoy</a>, is in a bit of a slump after Raven/Mystique (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2225369/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t4">Jennifer Lawrence</a>) left him for Erik/Magnito (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1055413/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t3">Michael Fassbender</a>/<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005212/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t18">Ian McKellen</a>).. oh, yeah, and Erik crippled him... So this film is (mostly) set after the events of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1270798/">First Class</a></i>. Logan has to pull Xavier out of it with the help of Beast (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0396558/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t6">Nicholas Hoult</a>) in order to save both the mutant and human populations from destroying themselves with giant killer robots called Sentinels (seriously, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133093/">The Matrix</a></i> again anyone?) designed by antagonist Dr. Trask (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0227759/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t9">Peter Dinklage</a>). Like giant sentient robots are <i>ever </i>a good idea!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k4aIl-GjEx8/U8SdcBEOHdI/AAAAAAAAHc8/oSujKoVHxh4/s1600/quicksilver.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k4aIl-GjEx8/U8SdcBEOHdI/AAAAAAAAHc8/oSujKoVHxh4/s1600/quicksilver.jpg" height="100" width="200" /></a></div>
Quicksilver was one of the best things about this film. I remember when the trailer came out some people thought he would be lame.. but no, he is awesome! The small part he plays in the film really stuck in my mind and when I watched it recently for the second time, he was just as good. He's played by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1404239/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t12">Evan Peters</a> from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1844624/?ref_=nm_knf_i3">American Horror Story</a></i> who does a fabulous job. Hope we see more of him in the next films. I also thought the meeting of the two Xavier's was excellent, how cool to meet your future self... and who else would be able to kick young Xavier's ass back into gear but older, wiser Xavier (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001772/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t19">Patrick Stewart</a>)? Stand out performance was definitely James McAvoy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fZ4UIvL1I04/U8SfT92zItI/AAAAAAAAHdI/0rcoQKDPmNg/s1600/gambit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fZ4UIvL1I04/U8SfT92zItI/AAAAAAAAHdI/0rcoQKDPmNg/s1600/gambit.jpg" height="200" width="145" /></a></div>
I'm a little disappointed that <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2018237/">Taylor Kitsch</a>'s role of Gambit hasn't reappeared. Gambit was always one of my favourite X-Men and the little teaser we got of him in <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458525/">Origins: Wolverine</a></i> just wasn't enough for me. I would have thought the timeline would be perfect for him too... Bring back Gambit! Also, the reappearance of Jean Grey (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000463/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t20">Famke Janssen</a>) and Cyclops (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005188/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t23">James Marsden</a>)! I did a little swoon there but we all knew they were both coming back didn't we? Yes, I watched the cartoons as a kid... And you can't have an X-Men film without Storm (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000932/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t5">Halle Berry</a>).<br />
<br />
I love X-Men. Keep 'em coming. Which X-Men is your favourite? Who do you want to see in the next film? Let me know in the comments!<br />

<span id="goog_556620782"></span><span id="goog_556620783"></span><a href="https://www.blogger.com/"></a>I spoke a little about this in my mass post of upcoming new shows and it's finally here! A friend recommended me the <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6065215-the-strain">book</a> by director <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0868219/">Guillermo del Toro</a> who's dark, spooky style is well known from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457430/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Pan's Labyrinth</a></i>. I'm glad I read it before the show came out...at least I was semi prepared for the creepy factor.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2aMwpBC7JXg/U8SAVvjwzII/AAAAAAAAHcE/kLj-LAxJW-o/s1600/guillermo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2aMwpBC7JXg/U8SAVvjwzII/AAAAAAAAHcE/kLj-LAxJW-o/s1600/guillermo.jpg" height="132" width="200" /></a></div>
It starts with something we've seen in these kind of shows before: a dead airplane. There is a mixture of traditional vampire mythology: the coffin of dirt, being transported over water, what I think is a Master, etc. But it's just a tad different. I might be giving some of it away here but I'm assuming most of you will figure all this out in the first couple of episodes. There are vampires... but they're not the sexy, fang sporting vampires we are used to. These vampires are infected with a parasite and they feed via these really ugly looking stingers. Very cool, very spooky.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EDc3kUkKj68/U8SABfBva7I/AAAAAAAAHb8/YV7jiu_qFHY/s1600/the+straint.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EDc3kUkKj68/U8SABfBva7I/AAAAAAAAHb8/YV7jiu_qFHY/s1600/the+straint.jpg" height="153" width="200" /></a></div>
I recognised <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1015684/?ref_=tt_cl_t29">Corey Stoll</a> right away even though with the hair he looks a little different from his <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1856010/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_13">House of Cards</a></i> role. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0535502/?ref_=tt_cl_t23">Mia Maestro</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285333/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_23">Alias</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1673434/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_7">Twilight: Breaking Dawn</a></i>) was also hard to miss, she's showing up everywhere lately. They play the two leading CDC investigators who got more than they planned for with the dead airplane. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0103195/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">David Bradley</a> (Filch from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1201607/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_19">Harry Potter</a></i>) plays a kooky old dude who's apparently dealt with these monsters before.<br />
<br />
The first episode has not disappointed so far: it's sufficiently spooky and mysterious. Even having read the book I'm still interested in watching the show, which is a good sign. It's set to get even creepier so give it a go and let me know what you think.<br />

Also known as "Mindscape", this film has such an interesting concept but the preview doesn't show you very much about it. John, played by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0835016/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Mark Strong</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1250777/?ref_=nm_knf_i4">Kick Ass</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0988045/?ref_=nm_knf_i2">Sherlock Holmes</a></i>), is a detective of the mind: he takes people back into their memories and goes in himself as a witness. I immediately thought it might be a bit like <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1375666/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Inception</a></i> and began picking up hints from very early on. John said something about being able to see him as a distant figure in memories and just before that he saw a guy in the distance. From the preview I gathered he's being charged with something and that they are using a mindscaper on him to find out what happened.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--is0NqWezFo/U5FMjzu7DzI/AAAAAAAAHX8/zNV6IzFut_U/s1600/anna.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--is0NqWezFo/U5FMjzu7DzI/AAAAAAAAHX8/zNV6IzFut_U/s1600/anna.jpg" height="112" width="200" /></a></div>
John stopped mindscaping because he his memories of his wife's murder kept sneaking into other peoples memories while he was working... but of course he runs out of money and needs to go back to it. His friend gives him Anna's - <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3920288/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Taissa Farmiga</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1844624/?ref_=nm_knf_i2">American Horror Story</a></i>) - case. Anna is very smart, very troubled and very complex. I spent most of the movie trying to figure her out and the rest trying to figure out if any of it was real...<br />
<br />
Good movie, well shot. I really enjoy the psychological thrillers that keep you guessing. Farmiga's performance is perfect. I'd really like to see her in a different role though, she always plays the freaky girl... The twist at the end was totally predictable but I liked picking out all the bits throughout the film. Not terrible, not fantastic...<br />

Mance (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001354/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t100">Ciaran Hinds</a>) should have said so to Jon Snow (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3229685/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t5">Kit Harington</a>) from the beginning though... not that Jon would have been able to convince Slynt (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0141582/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t51">Dominic Carter</a>) to let them in. Now that Stannis (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0226820/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t29">Stephen Dillane</a>) is there Jon might actually get heard. So, The Wall is won and everyone is like la-di-da... little do they know what's coming for them.<br />
<br />
Ygritte (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3310211/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t26">Rose Leslie</a>)... "You know nothin' Jon Snow". *sobs*<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gDeOhHT1xag/U6FWwBm0sCI/AAAAAAAAHag/7QWQAZvU4xk/s1600/arya+hound.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gDeOhHT1xag/U6FWwBm0sCI/AAAAAAAAHag/7QWQAZvU4xk/s1600/arya+hound.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a></div>
Arya (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3586035/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t4">Maisie Williams</a>) is finally leaving the Seven Kingdoms! She just spent the entire season walking across the country with The Hound (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0564920/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t9">Rory McCann</a>)... literally. Remember the Red Wedding season three finale (duh)? Well she was there remember? Just outside when it happened... and so The Hound took her to the Eyrie instead but they were three days too late for Aunt Lysa (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0225483/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t89">Kate Dickie</a>) and no one actually knew that Sansa (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3849842/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t7">Sophie Turner</a>) was there. So they left there too... Then Brienne (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3729225/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t22">Gwendoline Christie</a>) comes along but by that time Arya was like 'screw that' and went her own way, leaving The Hound to die miserably. Now she's off to Bravos finally! Her plot line next season will make up for this one...<br />
<br />
Also, we've been having Skinfam Game Of Thrones nights (fun for the whole family!) and we've been arguing all season because none of us can remember what happened to Sandor Clegane in the books... does anyone know? Does he actually die? Comments!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2t7j5UdCoCo/U6FUEQd6UtI/AAAAAAAAHZ8/8VYL64vJhPY/s1600/marg+joffrey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2t7j5UdCoCo/U6FUEQd6UtI/AAAAAAAAHZ8/8VYL64vJhPY/s1600/marg+joffrey.jpg" height="148" width="200" /></a></div>
Poor terrorized Sansa Stark finally escaped the Red Keep with the help of the slimy Littlefinger (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0318821/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t16">Aidan Gillen</a>) but was it him who killed Joffrey (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0322416/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t12">Jack Gleeson</a> - who will never work again!) or was it the Lady of Thorns, Olenna Tyrell (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001671/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t58">Diana Rigg</a>)? It was very vague in the books too but I always thought it was Olenna, who is one of my favourite characters. She hints at it in the show too when she talks to Margaery (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1754059/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t28">Natalie Dormer</a>), telling her that she would never have let her wed the little shit that was Joffrey. I think Littlefinger may have helped but only to get what it is he wants... Sansa. In the meantime, crazy Lysa sees Littlefinger kiss Sansa and gets batshit crazy jealous, Littlefinger tries to sooth her then promptly pushes her out the moondoor. Then the two of them, in an amazing performance, manage to convince the Eyrie council that she jumped. Freaking fantastic!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J7w43VU2MkE/U6FYWowqJAI/AAAAAAAAHaw/jxpART7pQCc/s1600/heart+tree+man.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J7w43VU2MkE/U6FYWowqJAI/AAAAAAAAHaw/jxpART7pQCc/s1600/heart+tree+man.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a></div>
And the final Stark, Brandon (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3652842/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t15">Isaac Hempstead Wright</a>). I've read all the books so everything that has happened is not too surprising to me... this was. I did not think that they would have reached the Weirwood already. You know how long Arya has been wondering around? Well Brandon got carried around by Hodor (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3964231/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t24">Kristian Nairn</a>) a billion times further and they still made it to the tree before she even gets to Bravos... This has put a spanner in the workings of my mental timelines... How cool was the Heart Tree guy though? Almost how I pictured him. Keep an eye on Brandon now, I do believe he is the main character of the entire thing!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_3IqIugINXs/U6FZMyvQt9I/AAAAAAAAHa4/QQ0nRR6aK7Y/s1600/lannisters.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_3IqIugINXs/U6FZMyvQt9I/AAAAAAAAHa4/QQ0nRR6aK7Y/s1600/lannisters.png" height="200" width="157" /></a></div>
I don't want to talk too much about the Lannister's except for the final scene of course. Nothing much happened with them... Joffrey finally died to the joy of absolutely everyone except Cersei (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0372176/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t1">Lena Headey</a>) and Jaime (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0182666/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t8">Nikolaj Coster-Waldau</a>). Tyrion (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0227759/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t2">Peter Dinklage</a>) was as awesome as ever despite spending most of the season locked in a dungeon... and that final scene with Tywin (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001097/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t10">Charles Dance</a>) and Shae (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1402546/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t25">Sibel Kekilli</a>): perfect! Just how I pictured it!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iPectppnnuA/U6FUxodOAbI/AAAAAAAAHaU/esrv8HKUsbY/s1600/dany.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iPectppnnuA/U6FUxodOAbI/AAAAAAAAHaU/esrv8HKUsbY/s1600/dany.jpg" height="136" width="200" /></a>Not much happened with Daenerys (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3592338/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t3">Emilia Clarke</a>) either. She liberated a few more cities and then spent the rest of her time in hearings for the people. Exciting right? No... There was that moment with Daario (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0401264/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t87">Michiel Huisman</a> - not nearly as pretty as last seasons Daario: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4534098/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t128">Ed Skrein</a>) and the eventual discovery of Jorah's (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0322513/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t6">Iain Glen</a>) betrayal that happened seasons ago. Be prepared for Dany to sit around moping about her dragons and the ongoing liberated slave problems for another season or two...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j--qtD8Cbq4/U6FbSC8TJDI/AAAAAAAAHbQ/Y0Rb3pbDbYQ/s1600/oberyn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j--qtD8Cbq4/U6FbSC8TJDI/AAAAAAAAHbQ/Y0Rb3pbDbYQ/s1600/oberyn.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a></div>
I have to mention one of my favourite characters, Oberyn Martell (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0050959/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t70">Pedro Pascal</a>). I loved this character in the books and I love the way he was portrayed in the show as well. It's a shame he doesn't get to hang around for longer but what a scene to go out on! So, so, so good! If someone made a top ten death scenes from GoT, this would be the top one. But do not despair, we shall hear from the Martell's next season, I do believe. That is where Marcella is too, if you missed that part.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pW7biQ5sJjM/U6FdSVVncsI/AAAAAAAAHbo/AHq13u3enIc/s1600/Heart+tree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pW7biQ5sJjM/U6FdSVVncsI/AAAAAAAAHbo/AHq13u3enIc/s1600/Heart+tree.jpg" height="112" width="200" /></a></div>
So, predictions for next season. Lots of Bran hiding in a hole under a tree listening to the old man lecture. Lots of Tyrian and sailing and shenanigans. Lots of Arya! Her story is one of the most exciting from now on I think, she has some adventures let me tell you! More battles at The Wall and a little bit of intrigue as well. Stannis will hang around there for a while too I think. There will be a surprise appearance by an old friend and quite a few new characters will be introduced from Dorne.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MAV66UL1-hI/U6FbmRlSghI/AAAAAAAAHbY/6_1pwxMRI4Q/s1600/baby+white+walker.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MAV66UL1-hI/U6FbmRlSghI/AAAAAAAAHbY/6_1pwxMRI4Q/s1600/baby+white+walker.png" height="117" width="200" /></a></div>
That's enough Game of Thrones for this season. It was renewed for season five and six right at the beginning of this season. They are catching up and in some places overtaking the books! Speaking of which... what was with Craster's babies? That wasn't in the books!<br />
<br />
'Til next season!<br />

I first heard about it from some of the bookclub girls who had been watching it, then I looked up the promo above and started it purely on the basis that it had <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000671/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Billy Bob Thornton</a> (the guy who was married to <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001401/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Angelina Jolie</a> years ago. You remember the blood in the vial around the neck debacle? Oh, and he starred in <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0307987/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_25">Bad Santa</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120797/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_38">Pushing Tin</a></i> and a heap of others) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0293509/?ref_=tt_cl_t4">Martin Freeman</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903624/?ref_=nm_ov_bio_lk1">The Hobbit</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1475582/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_5">Sherlock</a></i>).</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The show is based off the 1994 movie of the same name, which is apparently based off real life. There are those disclaimers at the beginning of each episode but I had a hard time trying to find anything factual... and that's because it's not real... The writers/directors of the film insisted it was based on a true story when doing promotional tours and the myth persisted... But it's entirely fictional, just in case you were wondering. I haven't actually watched the film (yet) so I can't tell you how close it is. I do know it was a hit and lots of people I know love it...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oopeUYSdV20/U6EqEh875sI/AAAAAAAAHZM/Fdi2HHTgSOM/s1600/martin-freeman-fargo-fx-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oopeUYSdV20/U6EqEh875sI/AAAAAAAAHZM/Fdi2HHTgSOM/s1600/martin-freeman-fargo-fx-1.jpg" height="111" width="200" /></a>Well, now we can all love the show too because it is bloody brilliant. There is not a single episode that was dull, I was biting my nails in the finale. I recognised <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004988/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Colin Hanks</a> from his short time on <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0773262/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_13">Dexter</a></i> and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0644022/?ref_=tt_cl_t5">Bob Odenkirk</a> who plays Saul in <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903747/?ref_=nm_knf_i2">Breaking Bad</a></i> but the stand out performance (other than Billy Bob) was definitely <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2798112/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Allison Tolman</a> who I have never seen in anything before. Billy Bob is such a bad ass! Freaking fantastic performance!<br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rJtAbc0nz4s/U6EsjHZ7s0I/AAAAAAAAHZg/PKEjxB6cees/s1600/allison.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rJtAbc0nz4s/U6EsjHZ7s0I/AAAAAAAAHZg/PKEjxB6cees/s1600/allison.jpg" height="150" width="200" /></a><br />
Brilliant show! It's not been confirmed for second season yet but I've heard that there is a plan for season two already and I will be very surprised if it's not picked up... I've also heard that second season will be very different from what we've seen so far but the guy who wrote season one is also writing season two so what's the bet it will be just as awesome?<br />

Sometimes I wish he would retire, he creeps me out just a little bit. He's so tiny and old and he's still making these same movies over and over again... they've gotten more of a sci fi twist lately as well. I have to admit the movies he stars in are never crap but I'm always a little discouraged at him being the action male lead. It's probably just me...<br />
<br />
Aliens have invaded and caused <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107048/?ref_=nv_sr_2">Groundhog Day</a></i>... that's what I got from the preview anyway... This is the second film that I've watched lately that has aliens or machines that rip off the sentinels from The Matrix. Have the alien development departments not got any imagination anymore?<br />

<br />
That is all.<br />

I was already a bit jaded on this film after watching just the preview. I knew there would be lots of awesome piano playing which is what I was looking forward to. What I wasn't looking forward to was the thriller side of it... really? Play my pretty, or die! *evil laugh*<br />

Tom has been avoiding performing for 5 years after choking on stage, until his wife sets up a comeback concert. I would be so peeved at her for doing that. Not only does he have the pressure to play well after the failure of his last performance and his wife has set him up this lovely comeback, but he is also being threatened by some crazy person who just so happens to be played by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000131/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">John Cusack</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0146882/?ref_=nm_knf_i2">High Fidelity</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120601/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Being John Malkovich</a></i>).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

In saying all that... I did want this movie to be terrible... but it wasn't entirely. Even though Cusack is a disembodied voice for all but 5 minutes of the film and I actually thought it was all in the pianists head until people started dying, I didn't hate it. The plot was wafer thin and the one part that was interesting was cut off. It's not something I would normally pick up and enjoy... but it wasn't terrible... Kudos to Elijah Wood for actually playing most of those pieces, amazing. Can't say I'll be watching this again though, that's why it gets:<br />

I actually really enjoyed the first one of these and was surprised to hear some people though it was crap. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1940449/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t1">Andrew Garfield</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1285016/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_6">The Social Network</a></i>) as Peter Parker is funny! He has this wicked sense of humour I love in the character. Then there were people bitching about how they've just made the <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0145487/?ref_=nv_sr_3">Spider-Man</a></i> movies and why remake it again... but this is a different time in Peter Parker's life and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001497/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Tobey Maguire</a> did pull out so they had to remake it if they wanted to make any Spiderman movies at all, so yer. *shrugs*<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fvZWY5hJzAA/U4wnqq1sfkI/AAAAAAAAHWY/uh68wYJPH-M/s1600/maryjane.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fvZWY5hJzAA/U4wnqq1sfkI/AAAAAAAAHWY/uh68wYJPH-M/s1600/maryjane.jpg" height="200" width="138" /></a>Shall we talk about Mary-Jane (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0940362/">Shailene Woodley</a>) who was supposed to be in the movie but had all her scenes cut? I saw a few interviews about why that happened and they pretty much said they didn't want Peter to look like a sleezy player. We all know that Peter and Mary-Jane have this thing going on later but right now it's all about Gwen and to introduce another love interest into it would distract from the Gwen storyline, and gosh are they cute together. I've got such a huge girl-crush on <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1297015/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t2">Emma Stone</a> and everything she does. It is unfortunate we didn't get to see Mary-Jane in this one but we will see her eventually.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bgzL4P5R2TY/U4wpqVJQ8uI/AAAAAAAAHWs/zWZT6mAoX_g/s1600/dane+dehaan+jamie+foxx.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bgzL4P5R2TY/U4wpqVJQ8uI/AAAAAAAAHWs/zWZT6mAoX_g/s1600/dane+dehaan+jamie+foxx.jpg" height="156" width="200" /></a>I'm a little disappointed in <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004937/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t3">Jamie Foxx</a>.. I don't know why... maybe because <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1853728/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Django Unchained</a></i> was so good and this role is so different. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2851530/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t4">Dane DeHann</a> on the other hand, wow! He is amazing, every role I see him in just gets better and better; <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1706593/?ref_=nm_knf_i1"><i>Chronicle</i></a>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1311071/?ref_=nm_knf_i4">Kill Your Darlings</a></i> and now this. I also LOVE that <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0498278/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t58">Stan Lee</a> appears in all of the Marvel movies, it's always makes me laugh to see him.<br />
<br />

I do love superhero movies!<br />

This will just be a quick one but I've seen some previews of new shows coming and I thought I'd share them with you...<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<object height="315" width="560"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/Yj0l7iGKh8g?version=3&hl=en_US"></param>

<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>

</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
First up is <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3107288/">The Flash</a></i>. We all know who The Flash is right? Well this is a spin-off from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2193021/">Arrow</a></i> so there will be a few faces we already recognise in there, including the Star Labs team and maybe even an appearance from our favourite masked hero (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1854386/?ref_=tt_cl_t9">Stephen Amell</a>). I also recognised <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0146915/?ref_=tt_cl_t6">Tom Cavanagh</a> from the show <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0247091/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Ed</a></i>. It's still a while away yet, the preview says Fall so I'm guessing another few months. But if I'm still watching <i>Arrow </i>then I guess I'll watch this one too... It's not my favourite of the new announcements but we'll get to that.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<object height="315" width="560"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/uPE2oBnzROY?hl=en_US&version=3"></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>
<embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/uPE2oBnzROY?hl=en_US&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The next one is <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3489184/">Constantine</a></i>, which I have just discovered is actually a TV Movie! Damn. The preview looks really good and I would love it as a series rather than a movie... oh well. Check out the awesome preview starring <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1790682/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Matt Ryan</a> who has guest featured in quite a few popular shows but I've never actually seen him before... as well as <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2189625/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Lucy Griffiths</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1837709/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Winter's Tale</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844441/?ref_=nm_knf_i4">True Blood</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0674782/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Harold Perrineau</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117509/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Romeo + Juliet</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1801096/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_12">Sexy Evil Genius</a></i>). The trailer looks so good, Constantine has that wicked dry humour that I just love. Add in the whole idea of who and what Constantine is and I am excited! If you haven't seen the movie starring <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000206/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Keanu Reeves</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133093/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">The Matrix</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1335975/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_3">47 Ronin</a></i>) then you need to check that out first. Again, this premiers in Fall so a few months to wait still...<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<object height="315" width="560"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/_42rx8Dm6OQ?version=3&hl=en_US"></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>
<embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/_42rx8Dm6OQ?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I read the first book of <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0868219/">Guillermo del Toro</a>'s <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2654620/">The Strain</a></i> and now it's coming to TV! It's a vampire book/show... yes, I can hear your groans already... but think vampires in the style of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120804/?ref_=nv_sr_3">Resident Evil</a></i>. They aren't pretty and sparkly with fangs... they are humans infected with a virus that changes their genetic makeup. They eat through a giant barbarous tongue.. I was told to think of the vampires in <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0187738/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Blade II</a></i> (which was directed by del Toro). So it has potential to be something kinda cool. We shall see though... Starring <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0103195/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">David Bradley</a> (Filch from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0241527/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_62">Harry Potter</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000276/?ref_=tt_cl_t10">Sean Astin</a> (Samwise from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120737/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_76">Lord Of The Rings</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0243806/?ref_=tt_cl_t15">Kevin Durand</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458525/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_23">X-Men Origins: Wolverine</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411008/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_20">Lost</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0535502/?ref_=tt_cl_t21">Mia Maestro</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285333/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_23">Alias</a></i>), The Strain premiers next month, July 13.<br />

<br />
<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2400631/">Crossbones</a></i> actually just started the other day and from what I can see it is very much like <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2375692/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Black Sails</a></i> which is probably why I haven't watched it yet. I was almost convinced when I realised it stars <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000518/?ref_=tt_ov_st">John Malkovich</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120601/?ref_=nm_knf_i2">Being John Malkovich</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887883/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_23">Burn After Reading</a></i>) as Blackbeard and features <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0185404/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t19">Richard Coyle</a> who I loved in <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0237123/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_30">Coupling</a></i>! The trailer looks cool too... ok, I've convinced myself to check it out, I'll get back to you on that one...<br />
<br />
So yeah... new stuff, coming soon!</div>

Huzzah! Uni is finished for the semester! Well, sorta... I do have exams in a couple of weeks... but in the meantime, blog post! Today is about a few films that left me saying "Huh?" or were just a bit strange...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XNZxR5AFYa0/U3Nd3_66_FI/AAAAAAAAHVg/aA0q3sj2t_A/s1600/only+lovers+left+alive.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XNZxR5AFYa0/U3Nd3_66_FI/AAAAAAAAHVg/aA0q3sj2t_A/s1600/only+lovers+left+alive.jpg" height="200" width="146" /></a></div>
I have to start with <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1714915/">Only Lovers Left Alive</a></i> because I watched this one the most recently and I'm still thinking about it. It's a vampire movie... but it's not like any vampire movie I've seen before. It's very jaded, and yet it's a love story. Adam (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1089991/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Tom Hiddleston</a>) and Eve (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0842770/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Tilda Swinton</a>) (and yes, I wondered whether they were <i>the </i>Adam and Eve) have been alive (dead?) for many, many years. They have been married several times and although they sometimes live together they are apart at the beginning of the film. Adam is a popular musician who is toying with the idea of putting an end to his eternity while Eve spends time with other vampire friends in Tangier. Then enters Eve's sister, Ava (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1985859/?ref_=tt_cl_t4">Mia Wasikowska</a>) who is a total spanner in the works. I loved the conversations between Adam and Eve, their dry, intellectual humour was my favourite bit. The soundtrack was amazing, Hiddleson and Swinton's performances were brilliant. I fell a little bit in love with both of them... Don't expect a conclusion to this story though; it leaves you hanging, wondering what's going to happen next.<br />
<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F8nXP73piFU/U4vnp6csAuI/AAAAAAAAHV0/3YMb-PSuYzo/s1600/her.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F8nXP73piFU/U4vnp6csAuI/AAAAAAAAHV0/3YMb-PSuYzo/s1600/her.jpg" height="200" width="135" /></a></div>
If you know someone who has a love affair with their computer then watching <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1798709/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1">Her</a></i> will make you even more confused. Technology has advanced so far that we are using Artificial Intelligence instead of Operating Systems (like Windows) and the main guy (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001618/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Joaquin Phoenix</a>) orders a brand new AI (voiced by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0424060/?ref_=tt_cl_t12">Scarlett Johansson</a>) who grows and learns as you talk to them and set them tasks. The thing is, this guy falls madly in love with his AI... It's all kinds of weird and sad... until almost suddenly you realise how normal of a relationship it is, which makes it even weirder... I was pretty disturbed by the time the film ended, but I think it was because I'd accepted the relationship between human and AI as normal. The film is long and there is lots of talking. It's pretty mundane really. But the ending still has me thinking about it. Give it a shot. Also featuring <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0010736/?ref_=tt_cl_t13">Amy Adams</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0770828/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Man of Steel</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1800241/?ref_=nm_knf_i3">American Hustle</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1913734/?ref_=tt_cl_t8">Rooney Mara</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1568346/?ref_=nm_knf_i2">The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0695435/?ref_=tt_cl_t5">Chris Pratt</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2015381/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_3">Guardians of the Galaxy</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1325419/?ref_=tt_cl_t10">Kristen Wiig</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1478338/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Bridesmaids</a></i>).</div>
<div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X5x_aiNkPcI/U4vn3bDdQBI/AAAAAAAAHV8/KFFsCmqkSVc/s1600/sexy-evil-genius.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X5x_aiNkPcI/U4vn3bDdQBI/AAAAAAAAHV8/KFFsCmqkSVc/s1600/sexy-evil-genius.jpg" height="100" width="200" /></a></div>
I picked up <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1801096/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Sexy Evil Genius</a></i> because it has some of my favourite cast members ever: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001293/?ref_=tt_cl_t4">Seth Green</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118276/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Buffy</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387199/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_48">Entourage</a></i>) <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005502/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Michelle Trachtenberg</a> (<i>Buffy</i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397442/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_7">Gossip Girl</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0755267/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Katee Sackhoff</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407362/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Battlestar Gallactica</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1411250/?ref_=nm_knf_i2">Riddick</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0674782/?ref_=tt_cl_t5">Harold Perrineau</a> (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117509/?ref_=nm_knf_i1"><i>Romeo + Juliet</i></a>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1124373/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_18">Sons of Anarchy</a></i>), plus <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000287/?ref_=tt_cl_t6">William Baldwin</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101393/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Backdraft</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800039/?ref_=nm_knf_i4">Forgetting Sarah Marshall</a></i>)... can't go wrong with a Baldwin right? Ha! It's set in a bar where we are all waiting for our crazy ex-girlfriend Nikki (Sackhoff) to show up and tell us why we're here... That's pretty much it. As we wait, we tell stories of all the crazy things that Nikki used to do and speculate as to why she has called us all together like this. I spent the entire movie wondering what the hell and in the last 10 minutes or so when it's all revealed... I was still wondering what the hell was happening. I would watch this movie again. Such a simple concept. Give it a go.<br />
<br />
We might go back to the normal Gee Spot programming from now on cos I just saw the new <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1877832/">X-Men</a></i> and I'm about to watch <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1872181/?ref_=nv_sr_1">The Amazing Spider-Man 2</a></i> and they both need full posts, right? There might be a Books mass post sometime too... Anyway, all fun! Stay tuned!<br />

A bit more of a serious note today with some heavy dramas that I've seen lately.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jlPSscok2t0/U3NEnsTinwI/AAAAAAAAHU4/O3KrP_6fDOA/s1600/dallas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jlPSscok2t0/U3NEnsTinwI/AAAAAAAAHU4/O3KrP_6fDOA/s1600/dallas.jpg" height="128" width="200" /></a></div>
We'll start with the amazing <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0790636/">Dallas Buyers Club</a></i> based on the true story of AIDS sufferer Ron Woodroof, set in the 1985. Woodroof (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000190/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Matthew McConaughey</a>) fought the FDA for years over the illegal drugs he was taking that were actually improving his quality of life as a HIV patient. He goes from being anti-gay to having a transgender best friend and business partner. After his discovery of alternative treatment drugs he starts up the Dallas Buyers Club: a loophole in the laws that allows him to legally sell memberships rather than the drugs themselves. Who knows how many lives he saved / extended with this endeavor. After watching this movie I can see why <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001467/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Jared Leto</a> and McConaughey won Academy Awards for their performances, they were both amazing, especially Leto. Worth a watch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LKzH2Vo0-Ro/U3NFPIPAE4I/AAAAAAAAHVA/CcdmVLndSxE/s1600/book+thief.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LKzH2Vo0-Ro/U3NFPIPAE4I/AAAAAAAAHVA/CcdmVLndSxE/s1600/book+thief.jpg" height="200" width="133" /></a></div>
<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0816442/">The Book Thief</a></i> is an adaption of the <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/19063.The_Book_Thief">book by Markus Zusak</a>, which I haven't read yet but is still on <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/10488750?shelf=to-read">my to-read list</a> after having watched the movie, so that's saying something right? Narrated by Death (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0019885/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Roger Allam</a>), set in 1939 Nazi Germany, we know this movie will have some tense / sad parts, and man does it ever. The story revolves around Liesel (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4563869/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Sophie Nelisse</a>) who just loves to read books in a time when books and knowledge are dangerous things to have. I don't want to give anything away but it's a really lovely story...right until it's not. Also starring <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001691/?ref_=tt_cl_t8">Geoffrey Rush</a>, who I just found out was born very close to where I was born. I would watch it again, probably after reading the book.<br />
<br />
<div>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--5cOI37Felw/U3NVYxY5G-I/AAAAAAAAHVQ/IkYOOIAL12k/s1600/47+ronin.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--5cOI37Felw/U3NVYxY5G-I/AAAAAAAAHVQ/IkYOOIAL12k/s1600/47+ronin.JPG" height="200" width="135" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
I had been waiting for <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1335975/">47 Ronin</a></i> to come out but I hadn't heard anything about it except that it was a samurai movie starring <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000206/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Keanu Reeves</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133093/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">The Matrix</a></i>). It's based on an old legend about a group of ronin - samurai without a master - who avenge their fallen lord. What I didn't realise about it was that there was going to be such a fantasy element to it, I suppose I should have known better though... The first beast scared the hell out of me purely because I wasn't expecting it. The animations are obvious but the creatures and the art itself is fantastic, as is the film style. I enjoyed it but then again, I enjoy a lot of foreign films... This is pretty Westernised though considering. It didn't do very well according to the box office but it's another movie that I would watch again.<br />
<br />
That'll do for today. I have some rather strange movies lined up for tomorrow's post, so stay tuned!<br />
<br />

I've watched a heap of movies lately so this will probably be a multi-post as well but I thought we'd start with some of the more kid friendly ones and then I can have fun berating the not to so awesome ones in a second post... how's that sound?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CCgcOcOSkU4/U3Mu72ieWrI/AAAAAAAAHUI/rPMXWrBpvBg/s1600/lego+movie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CCgcOcOSkU4/U3Mu72ieWrI/AAAAAAAAHUI/rPMXWrBpvBg/s1600/lego+movie.jpg" height="112" width="200" /></a></div>
The theme song for <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1490017/">The Lego Movie</a></i> has been stuck in my head ever since I saw this movie. It just randomly explodes out of me sometimes... "Everything is awesome!" I loved this movie, especially Batman (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004715/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t1">Will Arnett</a>) and Superman (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1475594/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t33">Channing Tatum</a>) and Green Lantern (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1706767/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t15">Jonah Hill</a>). Starring <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0006969/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t2">Elizabeth Banks</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1392170/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_21">Hunger Games</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1555340/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t4">Alison Brie</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1439629/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Community</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002071/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t10">Will Ferrell</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0357413/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Anchorman</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000553/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t22">Liam Neeson</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0936501/?ref_=nm_knf_i4">Taken</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000151/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t13">Morgan Freeman</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">The Shawshank Redemption</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0695435/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t27">Chris Pratt</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2015381/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_3">Guardians of The Galaxy</a></i>) and a whole range of others. Made entirely in Australia, even though we were the last country to have a release date. Worth watching more than once to catch all the Easter Eggs. Everything is awesome!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g_GeYOTXyQs/U3MvG8aDHFI/AAAAAAAAHUQ/TlGh43YXt1U/s1600/harlock.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g_GeYOTXyQs/U3MvG8aDHFI/AAAAAAAAHUQ/TlGh43YXt1U/s1600/harlock.jpg" height="109" width="200" /></a></div>
I can't remember who recommended me <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2668134/">Space Pirate Captain Harlock</a></i> but it had been a while since I'd watched any anime and when I saw the preview for this one I was immediately captivated by the awesome space pirate ship, Arcadia. I watched it English dubbed, which I don't normally do because they just can't seem get the same inflections as the Japanese do, but this was dubbed really well! I loved the animation style though the husband complained that it felt like he was in a video game... that was what I liked about it! The story is a bit long winded, I had to watch it twice to follow the whole thing and even then I'm still confused by the very end... But totally worth it. Apparently there is a manga too but the animation on it is not quite as awesome as the movie, which I would watch a third time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AejxyTWW0IU/U3MvQawwz7I/AAAAAAAAHUY/vx29InSHM1g/s1600/peabody+sherman.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AejxyTWW0IU/U3MvQawwz7I/AAAAAAAAHUY/vx29InSHM1g/s1600/peabody+sherman.JPG" height="200" width="134" /></a></div>
<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0864835/">Mr Peabody & Sherman</a></i> is a brand new, digitally animated film based on the characters from the old <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054524/">Rocky and Bullwinkle Show</a></i>! I was pretty excited when I saw the title because of course I recognised the name and I'm a sucker for these reminiscent type films. Mr Peabody (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0123092/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Ty Burrell</a>) has built a time machine in order to teach his adoptive son Sherman (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1934618/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Max Charles</a>) history. Of course they hit a few snags on the way, the least of which is Penny (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1736769/?ref_=tt_cl_t6">Ariel Winter</a>), a girl from Sherman's school who teases him about being a dog and then gets lost in ancient Egypt. There's a rollcall of important people throughout history and Mr Peabody comes out with some of the most hilarious puns. The kids will love this one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5dReATABLvA/U3MvnnpZCJI/AAAAAAAAHUg/I1Q9tEx3WU4/s1600/Veronica+Mars.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5dReATABLvA/U3MvnnpZCJI/AAAAAAAAHUg/I1Q9tEx3WU4/s1600/Veronica+Mars.jpg" height="200" width="134" /></a></div>
(Not exactly kid friendly but I couldn't resist...) After the fastest earning Kickstarter program ever, the <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2771372/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Veronica Mars Movie</a></i> was funded by fans worldwide nine years after the show ended... and it was totally worth it! If you're a marshmallow like me, you would have been just as excited that all of our tweeting to stars <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0068338/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Kristen Bell</a> and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0230655/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Jason Dohring</a>, as well as writer and director <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0859432/?ref_=tt_ov_dr">Rob Thomas</a>, finally paid off in a Kickstarter campaign that clicked over faster than the seconds. It's $2million goal was fully funded in under 10 hours! That is some crazy fans right there. So Veronica (Bell) is now a lawyer and of course Logan (Dohring) find himself caught in a bit of a bind and in need of her help... So she dusts off the detective gear and gets to work. Classic Veronica Mars, exactly what the fans asked for! Will watch again for sure.<br />
<br />
That's all for now but don't worry, I have a massive list of movies lined up for you.<br />
<br />

Well, I do have a movies mass post half done (there will be several of those too) but I just watched a few finales and had to blog about them because I'm just so darn excited!<br />

<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1843230/">Once Upon A Time</a></i> is welcoming (sorta) Queen Elsa from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2294629/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1">Frozen</a></i>! Argh! I have to say this show is a guilty pleasure. My inner, fairy tale loving 8 year old girl is loving this show. Hook (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1524440/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t9">Colin O'Donoghue</a>) is so swoon-worthy, I'm so jealous right now. It does get sappy sweet but I can deal with that as long as baddies like the Wicked Witch (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1242950/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t33">Rebecca Mader</a>) and Elsa keep appearing (cos if you didn't know, Elsa <i>is </i>actually a baddie...). So cool. Shame <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2802008/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1">Once Upon a Time in Wonderland</a></i> didn't do so well; it's not been renewed for another season but I'm really glad they wrapped it up before finishing it. Nice happy ending, just like fairy tales are supposed to have.</div>

<div>
I also just nabbed the first episode of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2628232/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Penny Dreadful</a></i>, which I've been keeping an eye out for. Starring <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1200692/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Eva Green</a>, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001096/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Timothy Dalton</a>, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001326/?ref_=tt_cl_t4">Josh Hartnett</a> and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0684877/?ref_=tt_cl_t6">Billie Piper</a>, set in 19th century England and featuring favourite supernatural beings of the century? It's no wonder I've kept it in my thoughts. From the looks of it we will be dealing with Dracula and Frankenstein... Speaking of, that end scene was just brilliant. I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season will bring. Stay tuned, I'll let you know how it goes.</div>
<div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-O0ucxKblAIo/U3CzIz4D1mI/AAAAAAAAHTk/F29imgDtBlI/s1600/emily.gif" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-O0ucxKblAIo/U3CzIz4D1mI/AAAAAAAAHTk/F29imgDtBlI/s1600/emily.gif" height="112" width="200" /></a>Holy, mother flipping <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1837642/">Revenge</a></i>?! What an episode... Gobsmacked. That was twist after twist like a damn roller coaster. There is literally nothing I can say about this that won't be a major spoiler... The twist we all hoped they wouldn't use but knew was pretty much inevitable finally happened. This episode was so great! It would've been better without that particular scene though... I actually thought it was Victoria (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000656/?ref_=tt_cl_t1">Madeleine Stowe</a>) coming to get him But now what? Aiden (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1289351/?ref_=tt_cl_t9">Barry Sloane</a>)... Jack (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0917060/?ref_=tt_cl_t5">Nick Wechsler</a>)... Victoria and Conrad (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001089/?ref_=tt_cl_t4">Henry Czerny</a>)... David (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0876805/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t12">James Tupper</a>)! This show needs to be careful not to go too <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092325/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Bold & The Beautiful</a></i> on us though.</div>
<div>

<div>
If you want a show with more blood and boobs than <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0944947/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Game of Thrones</a></i> you should check out <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2017109/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1">Banshee</a></i>. If you aren't watching this, you should be, it's totally nuts! There's two short seasons so far and they are both explosively exciting with strong seasonal plot, the meanest looking Ukrainian mob boss, a tough as nails ex-Amish 'businessman', the biggest freaking American Indian I've ever seen, plus a whole heap more. Though I swear half the town died in the last episode... that is some crazy gun fighting going on there. Also, an awesome soundtrack. Do it!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I've decided I won't do a <i>Game of Thrones</i> update until the season's done. I just like to savor it plus there's enough spoilers out there (cough, books) that you don't need me doing it too. Movies next, promise!</div>

Pretty sure this will be the last TV post, then we can finally move onto movies and possibly books... then back to your regular programming. Huzzah!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qVWKJUba_fU/U2trvu08lII/AAAAAAAAHSI/ynaPQ7AnxRw/s1600/arrow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qVWKJUba_fU/U2trvu08lII/AAAAAAAAHSI/ynaPQ7AnxRw/s1600/arrow.jpg" height="200" width="154" /></a></div>
I watched the entire series of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0279600/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Smallville</a> </i>since I stopped blogging... probably why I stopped blogging... but since then I've been addicted to <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2193021/">Arrow</a></i> as well. There's just something about superheroes and an extra something about superheroes with no actual powers. I'm loving this cast too; <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1854386/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Stephen Amell</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1094229/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_4">Heartland</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1556320/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Katie Cassidy</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397442/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_4">Gossip Girl</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1132359/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t25">Summer Glau</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379786/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Serenity</a></i>), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0071847/?ref_=tt_cl_t8">Manu Bennett</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1442449/?ref_=nm_knf_i4">Spartacus</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1204760/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t16">Kevin Alejandro</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844441/?ref_=nm_ov_bio_lk2">True Blood</a></i>). One more episode until season finale and the city is falling down around them. Will they be able to stop Slade's (actually) super army?<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CRXT7rFXh8c/U2tsDnPgAvI/AAAAAAAAHSQ/J-bgmPKbh0I/s1600/tomorrow+people.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CRXT7rFXh8c/U2tsDnPgAvI/AAAAAAAAHSQ/J-bgmPKbh0I/s1600/tomorrow+people.jpg" height="112" width="200" /></a><i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2660734/?ref_=nv_sr_1">The Tomorrow People</a></i>: why am I still watching this? I have no idea... Isn't it funny how they spent 18 or so episodes looking for Stephen's dad. Then they finally find him, bring him back from the dead and he lasts a whole two episodes before he's shot and dies again! And the whole time, Stephen (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2064412/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t1">Robbie Amell</a>) was the one who was the Savior. Ugh! I was really disappointed when Hillary (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0891786/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t11">Alexa Vega</a> from <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0227538/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Spy Kids</a></i>) blew herself up and still didn't manage to take out the founder! So annoying. At least the season wrapped up nicely... and then started with a whole new plot...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--iqP-_iMJjU/U2tsy_GcRLI/AAAAAAAAHSc/LdLnS8DAefo/s1600/glee.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--iqP-_iMJjU/U2tsy_GcRLI/AAAAAAAAHSc/LdLnS8DAefo/s1600/glee.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a></div>
Another one I'm still watching without knowing why is <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1327801/?ref_=nv_sr_3">Glee</a></i>, even though sometimes I just skip through the songs. But I think we all know that with Glee club being disbanded and all our favourite characters growing up - and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1719342/?ref_=tt_cl_t10">Cory Monteith</a> - this will be the last season of <i>Glee</i>. Maybe that's why I'm still watching... and I need a little sweetness with all these action shows I watch. I normally cook dinner while watching this show too... excuses, excuses.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JZwonRc88q0/U2ttcS0-A_I/AAAAAAAAHSk/Otnpt5Px96Y/s1600/originals.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JZwonRc88q0/U2ttcS0-A_I/AAAAAAAAHSk/Otnpt5Px96Y/s1600/originals.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a></div>
And these two, they come as a pair: <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1405406/?ref_=nv_sr_1">The Vampire Diaries</a></i> and <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2632424/?ref_=nv_sr_1">The Originals</a></i>. <i>TVD </i>is like: doppelgangers, kill them, eat them, die, die, stab, stab and yet they still always seem to get out of whatever scrape they're in. This time it's Travellers aka Gypsies... mmhrmm. Lucky for them, Damon (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0813812/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Ian Somerhalder</a>) is hot so I have to watch it. I actually prefer <i>The Originals</i> because Klaus (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0604784/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Joseph Morgan</a>) is such a dick and I love to hate him. I enjoy Hayley (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2100081/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Phoebe Tonkin</a>), Elijah (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0319171/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Daniel Gillies</a>) and Davina's (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2836740/?ref_=tt_cl_t6">Danielle Campbell</a>) characters. The reappearance of Mikael (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0003067/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t18">Sebastian Roche</a>) interests me as well.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Unii5uXvoAo/U2tt_BDcNGI/AAAAAAAAHSs/IRN2i34jRiU/s1600/castle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Unii5uXvoAo/U2tt_BDcNGI/AAAAAAAAHSs/IRN2i34jRiU/s1600/castle.jpg" height="200" width="165" /></a>I think I've mentioned my love for <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0277213/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Nathan Fillion</a> (<i>Serenity</i>) before and since the hubs and I started watching <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219024/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Castle</a> </i>we've really grown attached to <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1065664/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Stana Katic</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0830515/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_13">Quantum of Solace</a></i>) as well: so purdy! We love the banter between the two of them and the next/last episode looks like it's the wedding! Hooray! Hopefully it won't end tragically like <i>Castle </i>tends to, the hubs and I are forever expecting another sniper now...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fG0Et-z_8Mc/U2tuRbO9kBI/AAAAAAAAHS0/1rtUSHsZGfA/s1600/revolution.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fG0Et-z_8Mc/U2tuRbO9kBI/AAAAAAAAHS0/1rtUSHsZGfA/s1600/revolution.jpg" height="154" width="200" /></a><i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2070791/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Revolution</a></i> is one show I'm actually still enjoying. The whole idea of the nano and wanting to experience life is kinda cool and yet the nano is such a dick. It could easily take out their enemies or warn them or something but it hardly ever does, no humanity, no real understanding of life. It's probably going to end up running the world and deciding who gets to live and die. I think what I really enjoy about this show is the way all the different groups keep switching from being the good guys to the bad guys... you can never really tell who's in the right. Two more episodes of this season.<br />
<br />
So many shows! And I haven't even mentioned <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2375692/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Black Sails</a></i> or <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1856010/?ref_=nv_sr_1">House of Cards</a></i> yet... I've still got a few episodes of the awesome <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2017109/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Banshee</a></i> to watch. I'm also storing up the second season of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2306299/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Vikings</a></i> to watch in one big chunk. <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2234222/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Orphan Black</a></i> has just started up again and <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2372162/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Orange Is The New Black</a></i> is back very soon. Exciting season!<br />

Woah! Two days in a row, you lucky people! Today I'm going to discuss some of this season's new shows and how they're going so far, starting with my favourite...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e3XkvOBHpEo/U2tCLs91e0I/AAAAAAAAHRM/8Fo8AEuz1dA/s1600/dusk+till+dawn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e3XkvOBHpEo/U2tCLs91e0I/AAAAAAAAHRM/8Fo8AEuz1dA/s1600/dusk+till+dawn.jpg" height="200" width="135" /></a></div>
<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3337194/">From Dusk Till Dawn</a></i>! I'm pretty sure I've already had a bit of a fangirl gush over <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000233/">Quentin Tarentino</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0266697/?ref_=nm_knf_i3">Kill Bill</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110912/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Pulp Fiction</a></i>) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001675/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Robert Rodriguez</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401792/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Sin City</a></i>, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1077258/?ref_=nm_knf_i4">Planet Terror</a></i>) and man was I excited when I heard Rodriguez was adapting this classic for TV. It is very much the same story; the Gecko brothers, Seth (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1366616/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t1">DJ Cotrona</a>) and Richie (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1175678/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t2">Zane Holtz</a>), rob a bank and run over the border to a Mexican bar called the Titty Twister filled with vampires. We get a bit more of the back story this time, so it's not completely the same, and the vampires are more like snakes than traditional vampires, which I love! But it's still full of the classic gory, limb ripping, blood spurting awesomeness backed by the sounds of Chingon that is Rodrigez's classic style. I especially enjoy <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000998/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t11">Jake Busey</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120201/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Starship Troopers</a></i>) as Sex Machine. I look forward to watching this every week.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aiq4x8urJ8U/U2tCzzlTJJI/AAAAAAAAHRU/2KYZYtHNVE4/s1600/100.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aiq4x8urJ8U/U2tCzzlTJJI/AAAAAAAAHRU/2KYZYtHNVE4/s1600/100.png" height="150" width="200" /></a></div>
<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2661044/?ref_=nv_sr_2">The 100</a></i> is about 100 (surprise) kids who've been sent back to Earth to make sure it's livable for the rest of human society, who are still stuck on a mish-mash of spaceships orbiting what they believe to be a radioactive Earth. Well, Earth is livable and what ensues is a kind of <i>Lord of the Flies</i> scenario... until they realise that the 100 are not the only people still on the planet! We don't know a lot about the mysterious grounders yet, or the planet, or the affect of the nuclear bombs. Something happens in every episode to make me want to continue. It's a largely unknown cast but I'm pretty sure that was Aussie <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1901842/">Dichen Lachman</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1135300/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">Dollhouse</a></i>) in the preview for next week's episode! So I guess we'll see how this season plays out...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NhblaJgkuxc/U2tDg5J0R8I/AAAAAAAAHRc/QpTheoOCHC4/s1600/believe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NhblaJgkuxc/U2tDg5J0R8I/AAAAAAAAHRc/QpTheoOCHC4/s1600/believe.jpg" height="200" width="140" /></a></div>
The hubs and I have been charmed by young Bo (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4292747/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Johnny Sequoyah</a>) who has amazing powers in <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2592094/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Believe</a></i>. Everyone seems to love Bo and she spends each episode hunting down people via premonitions she gets and helping them... she really is irresistible. She's being hunted by some private organisation called Orchestra that wants to study her and so Bo and her dad Tate (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2474864/?ref_=tt_cl_t5">Jake McLaughlin</a>) and the rest their team of ex-Orchestra specialists spend most of their time running and hiding while helping people along the way. Just a nice, feel-good show for once... sorta... <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zB5bHK-GRdU/U2tE86RodKI/AAAAAAAAHRo/pryUVeuISTI/s1600/intelligence.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zB5bHK-GRdU/U2tE86RodKI/AAAAAAAAHRo/pryUVeuISTI/s1600/intelligence.jpg" height="100" width="200" /></a></div>
<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2693776/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Intelligence</a></i>: a show about a guy - Gabriel (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0391326/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Josh Holloway</a>) - with a chip in his head that can connect him to any computer system, satellite, camera... pretty much anything electronic. I'm sure there is another show with this same idea but I'm just fascinated by it and the way Gabriel uses it. The idea of being able to build a virtual crime scene in his mind... yes, I'm interested. Plus, I really like his spunky partner played by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0651441/?ref_=tt_cl_t2">Meghan Ory</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1843230/?ref_=nm_ov_bio_lk1">Once Upon A Time</a></i>). It's a mix of thriller and drama with a twist of science fiction. It's just finished season one and we're waiting to see whether it will be picked up for a second.<br />

In <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2322158/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Crisis</a> </i>a whole bunch of really important kids have been kidnapped while on a school trip. When I say important, I mean the President's son important. The kidnappers are ex-CIA and from what I can gather so far, they are trying to expose a corrupt program within the CIA... I think that's the aim anyway. Each episode, the FBI get a little closer but they are being roadblocked not only by the kidnappers but also by the CIA itself. The kidnappers have been using the parents of these children to accomplish tasks, each task is a piece of the puzzle with the goal (I think) of exposing the CIA program. It's a little confusing, it's a little hectic and I'm always wondering when things are going to fall apart and for which group of people... It took me nearly a whole episode to recognise <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000096/?ref_=tt_cl_t15">Gillian Anderson</a> (<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106179/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">The X-Files</a></i>) and even then, it was her voice that gave her away. She is looking fantastic and very unScullylike.<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F-HSJVNcj1A/U2tFsaYrxAI/AAAAAAAAHR4/StxGDgurTvo/s1600/almost+human.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F-HSJVNcj1A/U2tFsaYrxAI/AAAAAAAAHR4/StxGDgurTvo/s1600/almost+human.jpg" height="200" width="135" /></a></div>
I just found out that <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2654580/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Almost Human</a></i> has been cancelled after a single 13 episode season. I am not the only person saying the Fox is where SciFi goes to die. I really enjoyed it and I'm sad it won't be back. Another awesome SciFi show that's finishing up is <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1132290/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Warehouse 13</a></i>, one of my favourites! But at least it was given the chance to round it all up in this short 6 episode season... 2 episodes left. I will write sad pandas about this later... Also disappointed I didn't get to see the whole season of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2657258/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Killer Women</a></i> before it was canned; they skipped an episode and I missed some important bits goddamnit! Much annoyance. Another awesome show doesn't make the cut, ugh!<br />
<br />
So there ya'll go! Some new shows and some that are finishing up. Anyone watching anything new? I am interested to hear what people think of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2657262/">Star-Crossed</a></i>, I have yet to check it out. There's still a few regular shows missing from these updates... so there may be a Part III... later.<br />

Hey guys! I've been pretty darn terrible at keeping up on this lately, sorry... I could blame uni but we all know I go through phases of writing. I've done a lot more reading lately than anything else and there will be a post coming up about that...but right now, let's stick to TV. Seasons are not quite over with yet but there are a few things I've been wanting to share, so we'll do a quick run through of some of the standouts.. or not so stand outs...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R1uActzBAlE/U2nAWmZdO-I/AAAAAAAAHQM/qiOqUrKXxJM/s1600/walking+dead.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R1uActzBAlE/U2nAWmZdO-I/AAAAAAAAHQM/qiOqUrKXxJM/s1600/walking+dead.jpg" height="148" width="200" /></a>Firstly: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1520211/"><i>The Walking Dead</i></a> Season 4 finale.... What. The. Actual. F. That was sooo not a finale. I literally had to double check and make sure I hadn't gotten it wrong and was watching the second to last episode but no, that disappointing ending was actually it... I don't think a season finale has ever annoyed me so much, especially after last season and the fall of the prison. Come on dudes! I swear this show agitates me more and more and yet I'm still watching it. Maybe I should stick to the comics.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A3evuqpeiVQ/U2m_YrYMz8I/AAAAAAAAHQE/YStCiur-smQ/s1600/the+blacklist.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A3evuqpeiVQ/U2m_YrYMz8I/AAAAAAAAHQE/YStCiur-smQ/s1600/the+blacklist.jpg" height="112" width="200" /></a></div>
<i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2741602/?ref_=nv_sr_1">The Blacklist</a></i> has been a stand out for me this season. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000652/?ref_=tt_ov_st">James Spader</a> is brilliant! The entire season has been ups and downs while still having good episode and season plots, and it's finally all falling apart and coming together now. What is Reddington (Spader) up to? Who is Tom Keen (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2375297/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Ryan Eggold</a>)? I have a feeling the mysterious Berlin is someone we know, why hide their face until now otherwise? One episode left of the season! What will we find out? Eek, so good.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5PfdVDOnizw/U2nA4t18LjI/AAAAAAAAHQU/Thb41dpDDnk/s1600/shield.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5PfdVDOnizw/U2nA4t18LjI/AAAAAAAAHQU/Thb41dpDDnk/s1600/shield.png" height="110" width="200" /></a></div>
Marvel's <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2364582/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D</a></i> started out pretty lame but it's gotten better since the release of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1843866/">Captain America: The Winter Soldier</a></i> (which I will try not to spoil for anyone just yet) and the betrayal of Ward (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3474430/?ref_=tt_cl_t3">Brett Dalton</a>) - which I still only half believe, by the way. I am so pissed at him, especially after the Skye (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4032297/?ref_=tt_cl_t4">Chloe Bennet</a>) thing. Ugh, so frustrating. But that's the way TV shows go eh? I'm also wondering whether <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1130627/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t25">Cobie Smulders</a> will be hanging around permanently now that <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460649/?ref_=nm_knf_i1">HIMYM</a></i> is done. One more episode after today's and that's the end of that season too. I'm still judging.<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U1MN5BzvR-Y/U2nD3JyTHvI/AAAAAAAAHQ0/yURMKJcn30o/s1600/HIMYM.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U1MN5BzvR-Y/U2nD3JyTHvI/AAAAAAAAHQ0/yURMKJcn30o/s1600/HIMYM.jpeg" height="150" width="200" /></a><br />
Speaking of <i>How I Met Your Mother</i>... how sad/happy was the series ending?! I miss that show so much already but I love that it came full circle back to Robin (Smulders) and Ted (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1102140/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Josh Radnor</a>). Screw you people hating on it! I watched the Inside the Actor's Studio after the finale and luuuuurved the ending of that! Watch it:<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ya0Ao3KBzw0/U2nCctC4RkI/AAAAAAAAHQg/BV1T6SXc5J8/s1600/supernatural.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ya0Ao3KBzw0/U2nCctC4RkI/AAAAAAAAHQg/BV1T6SXc5J8/s1600/supernatural.jpg" height="200" width="133" /></a></div>
I'm still watching <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460681/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Supernatural</a></i> though this is about the 4th season that I've berated myself for doing so. They have been going for 9 years now and the repetition is beyond ridiculous... but I just can't seem to help myself. No matter how many times Sam (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0655585/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Jared Padalecki</a>) and Dean (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0010075/?ref_=tt_ov_st">Jensen Ackles</a>) break up, or Castiel (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0172557/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t3">Misha Collins</a>) dies, I still have to watch it. There's a couple more episodes of this season but it will probably just keep going like it always does...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zs7y1Mlh9_Y/U2nC5EMdMJI/AAAAAAAAHQo/s-rJFjlwObQ/s1600/californication.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zs7y1Mlh9_Y/U2nC5EMdMJI/AAAAAAAAHQo/s-rJFjlwObQ/s1600/californication.jpg" height="112" width="200" /></a>I'm terribly excited by the return of <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0172557/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t3">Californication</a></i>. These episodes are always too short and the show has really short seasons too; it's like it's here and then it's gone before you know it. I miss <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2423358/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t16">Tim Minchin</a> from this season but the addition of <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001287/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t72">Heather Graham</a> was a good move... gosh she looks fantastic. Last season was pretty massive and this season is looking like it will be too. Waiting for a few things to blow up in Hank's (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000141/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t1">David Duchovny</a>) face as per usual...but the season has only just started. Huzzah!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Ez6JUbuBbo/U2nEoXswXfI/AAAAAAAAHQ8/GWkOYVZtg8E/s1600/got.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Ez6JUbuBbo/U2nEoXswXfI/AAAAAAAAHQ8/GWkOYVZtg8E/s1600/got.jpg" height="133" width="200" /></a></div>
That's enough for now... I may have to do a Part II though, so many new shows I have yet to mention and a couple of other usual ones, some returning for second seasons, and of course, <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0944947/?ref_=nv_sr_1">Game of Thrones</a></i> but I'm going to wait until that one gets a bit more exciting. I will try get a movies and book mass post done too. Stay tuned!<br />
<br />
