TV: LA Complex SE2 EP13

LA Complex
Drama

I wasn't going to review this ep because I think I've done this entire season now... but you guys know how much I love this show and this is the finale, so I couldn't resist!

What the hell was Charlotte (Tori Anderson) doing kissing Connor (Jonathan Patrick Moore)?!? I thought during that scene that she was leaning into it.. then I thought 'No! That's Connor's sister!" and then she did it anyway....woah! It made me think a little more about her... Like maybe my initial thought was right and she's not actually Connor's sister.  A few other things have happened around the Church that make me wonder as well; like the famous guy in the lobby after Connor found out about the aliens and volcanoes. It's all a bit too convenient and I have this horrible feeling that it's all been set up by the Church to get Connor and his money... Oh, and I think Charlotte, who is not actually his sister, is now in love with him and that's why they have to be kept apart...

Infinite Jest (Stephan James) is back, didn't think he'd stay away for long... I have to admit that I thought he'd end up being a regular character next season, did not see this plot twist coming...at least, not all of it. I knew that he would find out about Kaldrick (Andra Fuller), someone had to and he was on a mission to get at him somehow. He's such a little shit head, I wanted to kick his ass so bad and I'm really surprised that Kal didn't fuck his shit up. Poor Kal, him and Walter (Eugene Clark) were just starting to get to know each other, what a heartbreaking scene. At least Christopher (Jarod Joseph) is there with him and he's going to need him after the release of that letter. Very Frank Ocean there writers!

Raquel (Jewel Staite) is sleeping with the boss Mark (Jeremy Guilbaut), no surprise there either, and we all knew that someone was going to get busted for the skimming, I just thought it would be Raquel or Manny (Matthew Owen  Murray) not Mark...

Abby (Cassie Steele) and Gray (Steve Byers) got married? Those crazy people! And now Abby is flying to Germany to be with him? Oh dear! I have such a bad feeling about this too. Remember how he said he didn't like anyone to see him off? I thought for a while that he was making the Air Force thing up and that he was just saying that to get in her pants - note that I don't like thinking this because I really like him, he's sweet and cute and dreamy and *sighs* - but then I noticed he was wearing a full uniform when he left so I'm hoping that he is telling her the truth and he does want her and everything turns out to be hunky dory.

Argh, I'm so annoyed at Simon (Michael Levinson) and Beth's (Dayle McLeod) Dad (Louis Ferreira) right now! What a complete tosser! He does have rights I suppose but I'm of the same opinion as Beth; that he voided those rights when he left them to live in their car, alone...plus Beth has proven that she can take care of Simon. If that were me and my little brother in that situation here in Australia, I would get custody. Eighteen is adult here, and when you are over the age of twelve you can opt who you want to live with and that is taken into consideration when deciding custody (I might have looked into this once or twice). After the whole complex stood up and stopped him from taking Simon as well... Wanker! In this situation, Beth did the right thing... Simon is the priority here.

Honourable mention to Rook (William Stewart), Kals cousin(?) / manager. When he said he knew Kal his whole life and that it was no big secret to him that Kal was gay, I had a little hope for him... But then the end of the ep, woah! Did not think he would go to those lengths to keep Kal...  And lastly, what a nice surprise to see Katee (Kate Todd) from season one for a frame or two! Love ye ol' characters.

Looks like I can't help but babble on about this show! Maybe you should watch it eh? *hint hint nudge nudge*

4 out of 5 red carpets...

This is the letter I should have written to my father but it's too late for that now, so I'm writing it to you instead.

I was raised to be tough to not take anything from anyone. It's a lonely way to walk through this world. I spent my whole life trying to impress you, trying to please you. All it did was make me hate you, hate myself and when I finally found someone who loved me, who I thought I could love back, you made me hurt them, hurt them so they could never be unhurt. I tore that love apart and myself apart with it. I have wanted to die because I could not be who I wanted to be because I could not be who you wanted me to be, but I couldn't die any more than I could live. I'm tried of being here in this place that feels like nowhere, tired of caring what people think of me, I'm tired of being afraid. I've met someone that makes me want to breathe in this world again and I will not hold my breath a second longer. None of these lies I told made me stronger, none of the secrets I kept made me happier, so I'm going to try something else right now, I'm going to try telling the truth, my truth.

My name is Sean Dougan AKA Kaldric King AKA The King of California.
I'm gay.

Til Next Season!

TV: LA Complex SE2 EP10 & 11

LA Complex
Drama

I know, I know; it's almost time for the next episode and I'm reviewing last weeks? Well, you all know how much I love this show, I just can't not review an episode! I've been thinking about this double one ever since as well. Love it!

So Abby (Cassie Steele) and Kal (Andra Fuller) went to see Tariq (Benjamin Charles Watson)! I've been waiting for that all season. I thought they both did really well in that meeting, I was glad and sad at the same time. Kal has changed quite a bit since last season though hasn't he? He's still searching for himself... It's nice that he and Chris (Jarod Joseph), the lawyer, have sorted things out a little, and Dynasty (Dayo Ade) as well. I really like Dynasty.

I hope that this movie Raquel (Jewel Staite), Cam (Kristopher Turner) and Kevin (Jordan Johnson-Hinds) are making turns out awesome and a huge smash and makes all their careers....If they can pull it all together. The one scene they filmed in the bank had me cracking up! Hilariously brilliant! But Raquel skimming cards is not the way to do it! She's going to get caught and go to jail for real this time if she's not careful. It was a bit too close for comfort with that one customer...

How nice was it of Cam to sign Beth (Dayle McLeod) up for the SATs? She actually looked like she was enjoying that exam! We all know she's going to ace them! I really like this guy, glad him and Kevin have a bigger role in this season. They are so cute together - Beth and Cam that is - I swooned a little.

Connor (Jonathan Patirck-Moore) converting to Charlotte's (Tori Anderson) religion...I have nothing against religion but this one is creeping me out a little. Is it even a religion? I noticed that they never mentioned God and I was a tad confused until Eddie (Ennis Esmer) pointed out what it was all about. Connor does need the help though...

Who couldn't see that Sabrina (Georgina Reilly) telling her parents she's a comedian was a bad idea? And now she's moved in with Nick (Joe Dinicol). She was such a bitch to him in this episode, I wanted to slap her silly. He was being so nice and cute and caring! He made her audition work, how good was that? He's a keeper girl! I supposed those demented I Love You's at the end of this ep were sweet....sorta.... meh.

Oh, holy crapola! Beth and Simon's (Michael Levinson) dad! Woah! Luke was watching it with me and he actually thought that Dad was going to take Simon at the theme park. "Oh we're going on the rollercoaster," and then never come back. Close.... I love how the whole complex stood up and stopped him when he tried to take Simon! *huge naww*

Oh yeah... was that Gray (Steve Byers) proposing to Abby?! WTF!

4 out of 5 rollercoasters...
Eddie: "I read in GQ that he gave his last producer a house, as a housewarming gift."

TV: LA Complex SE2 EP9

LA Complex
Drama

Every week I find myself posting about the new ep of this show, that's the sign of a good one right? I think so. Even though this is only a drama, something happens every week that I want to talk about and I've grown so attached to the characters... It kind of reminds me of Skins a little...

Wow, now I want to know what happened with Connor's (Jonathan Patrick Moore) parents... They've mentioned a few little things and that's probably where Connor's mental issues came from; abandonment. Now he has a sister though. It looks like they all suffered some form of mental illness, can anyone say hereditary? I'm glad I was wrong about her and that Charlotte (Tori Anderson) actually is Connor's sister, he needs some family.

Told you Raquel (Jewel Staite) was going to get sued....again! Kinda knew she would apply for bankruptsy too, what other choice did she have? I did not see her waiting tables though... The owner of the restaurant had the right idea putting her behind the bar instead.

Nick (Joe Dinicol) impressed me this episode. I original thought that he was being a bit spineless when he copped up to the cocaine being his, especially because he didn't sound in the least bit believable but then after he got fired and stormed back into the writers room I actually stopped and cheered at the TV.

Beth (Dayle McLeod) is kinda smart isn't she? Except when it comes to her dad... Wonder if she will ever answer the phone. I don't blame her though, I'd be majorly pissed off with him. About time she got with Cam (Kristopher Turner)! I knew Raquel would end up doing their movie... I bet it turns out to be a major hit and they all become famous from it! How cool was Beth when Raquel stormed in too, I giggled.

I still think Kal (Andra Fuller) is the main character for me, his story is the one I want to hear about. I am so glad he told Abby (Cassie Steele), she might hate him now but at least he will have someone to talk to about it. Wasn't sure he was actually going to tell her for a second there... but he did! Maybe this is finally the time when Tariq (Benajmin Charles Watson) will come back, I've been waiting for this all season!

3 out of 5 skeletons in the closet...

Paul: This is not the 70's, it's not the mid-80's, it's not various portions of the 90's. You are not day traders, this is not a high school or a disco tech in Monaco. You are pale, miserable, uncool writers who should not be able to afford this much cocaine, you're lucky you get a writers bathroom.

Nick: You know, you are like the worst person I've ever met and it might be okay if you were good at this job, but you're not. Everybody knows Chris and Ryan completely rewrite everything you do. You're always late, you're always drunk, you look like a muppet without it's fur and the only reason you're even here is because Paul knew you back when you used to be funny.
