Movie: The Fourth Kind (2009)

The Fourth Kind (2009)
Mystery, Sci Fi, Thriller

I had to pause after the very first scene introducing the film and Google Dr Abigail Tyler to find out if it actually was based on true events...its not, but its very convincing in making you think that it is. There was a reported 20 people missing from the town of Nome, Alaska but investigation revealed that these deaths involved alcohol and subzero temperatures. Nine bodies were never found.

I've also heard this movie is the follow up to Encounters of The Third KindIt's about alien abduction, the Fourth Kind of contact. Apparently this movie is pretty darn spooky, we'll see...

I love Milla Jovivich (Fifth Element) - I follow her on Twitter which was especially awesome when she was filming the latest Resident Evil (due out later this year) and was tweeting us videos of the set. Just awesome!  Will Patton (Falling Skies) plays the part of the sheriff.

It's filmed really strangely and that is sometimes distracting. There's the supposed reenactment, in which the actors are, and the 'footage'. Sometimes they play them in a split screen style with both audios playing or often molding from one to the other. It's hard to concentrate on sometimes, you don't know which version you should be paying attention to. Doing the filming in this way really makes the mockumentary seem real. If I hadn't have Googled it, I would've thought it was real events - in fact, my little sister Cassie thought so until I told her otherwise.

It is kinda spooky and it's filmed really well. Would watch it again.

4 out of 5 flying saucers...
