TV: Mass Post... Part III

Pretty sure this will be the last TV post, then we can finally move onto movies and possibly books... then back to your regular programming. Huzzah!

I watched the entire series of Smallville since I stopped blogging... probably why I stopped blogging... but since then I've been addicted to Arrow as well. There's just something about superheroes and an extra something about superheroes with no actual powers. I'm loving this cast too; Stephen Amell (Heartland), Katie Cassidy (Gossip Girl), Summer Glau (Serenity), Manu Bennett (Spartacus) and Kevin Alejandro (True Blood). One more episode until season finale and the city is falling down around them. Will they be able to stop Slade's (actually) super army?

The Tomorrow People: why am I still watching this? I have no idea... Isn't it funny how they spent 18 or so episodes looking for Stephen's dad. Then they finally find him, bring him back from the dead and he lasts a whole two episodes before he's shot and dies again! And the whole time, Stephen (Robbie Amell) was the one who was the Savior. Ugh! I was really disappointed when Hillary (Alexa Vega from Spy Kids) blew herself up and still didn't manage to take out the founder! So annoying. At least the season wrapped up nicely... and then started with a whole new plot...

Another one I'm still watching without knowing why is Glee, even though sometimes I just skip through the songs. But I think we all know that with Glee club being disbanded and all our favourite characters growing up - and Cory Monteith - this will be the last season of Glee. Maybe that's why I'm still watching... and I need a little sweetness with all these action shows I watch. I normally cook dinner while watching this show too... excuses, excuses.

And these two, they come as a pair: The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. TVD is like: doppelgangers, kill them, eat them, die, die, stab, stab and yet they still always seem to get out of whatever scrape they're in. This time it's Travellers aka Gypsies... mmhrmm. Lucky for them, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is hot so I have to watch it. I actually prefer The Originals because Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is such a dick and I love to hate him. I enjoy Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Davina's (Danielle Campbell) characters. The reappearance of Mikael (Sebastian Roche) interests me as well.

I think I've mentioned my love for Nathan Fillion (Serenity) before and since the hubs and I started watching Castle we've really grown attached to Stana Katic (Quantum of Solace) as well: so purdy! We love the banter between the two of them and the next/last episode looks like it's the wedding! Hooray! Hopefully it won't end tragically like Castle tends to, the hubs and I are forever expecting another sniper now...

Revolution is one show I'm actually still enjoying. The whole idea of the nano and wanting to experience life is kinda cool and yet the nano is such a dick. It could easily take out their enemies or warn them or something but it hardly ever does, no humanity, no real understanding of life. It's probably going to end up running the world and deciding who gets to live and die. I think what I really enjoy about this show is the way all the different groups keep switching from being the good guys to the bad guys... you can never really tell who's in the right. Two more episodes of this season.

So many shows! And I haven't even mentioned Black Sails or House of Cards yet... I've still got a few episodes of the awesome Banshee to watch. I'm also storing up the second season of Vikings to watch in one big chunk. Orphan Black has just started up again and Orange Is The New Black is back very soon. Exciting season!

TV: Castle SE5 EP5

Castle
Comedy, Crime, Drama

Love, love, love this episode! I knew it would only be a matter of time until someone framed Castle (Nathan Fillion) as a murderer. As soon as Javie (Jon Huertas) said that Castle's fingerprint was found at the crime scene, I knew that he was being set up! What I didn't know was who was behind it...

When they found the earring I was sitting next to my husband thinking 'Who's the second person at the cashier's desk? Why didn't they look at her?' and now I'm wondering how Jerry Tyson (Michael Mosley) AKA 3XK managed to set that bit up. How did he get the cashiers check from Castle's account? We know that he used a Castle look-alike to purchase the earrings but he wouldn't have been able to make a withdrawal from his bank account, could he?

I didn't recognise 3XK at first, he was last seen in season three, so I do have a valid excuse, but when I Google'd, I remembered. He set the whole thing up pretty well actually with evidence being planted, emails and a fake story on Castle's hard-drive, the look-alike and especially the perfect timing. He would have has to make sure Castle didn't have an alibi for the time of the murder...Especially the part about Castle going to The Tombs and being killed there... that Beckett would know the truth and forever hate herself for not being able to stop it... Very smart criminal. Even smarter Castle for finding a way around it, I honestly thought he was on his way there!

I thought that this would be the cruncher that would break Beckett and Castle apart. Thinking he's guilty when he's not is not something you can easily forgive... it would have been over.... I'm so glad Kate didn't believe it. Again with the smart bloody criminal... he set up his own death so that they would stop looking for him... wow... how do you even plan that?

Great episode! and the secret about Caskett is finally out!

TV: Castle SE5 EP1

Castle
Comedy, Crime, Drama

My household freaking loves this show! It started with the awesomeness that is Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Buffy) which we just couldn't resist, and we've been addicted ever since! This show is very Murder She Wrote in the sense that a major crime novellest, Richard Castle, follows around the local homicide police in an effort to research for a new series based on head detective, Kate Beckett (Stana Katic). It's packed full of classic Fillion one liners and Stana? Phew *fans self*

If you're a regular viewer, you know last seasons finale was a HUGE deal! We've been waiting four seasons, four years for that final scene to happen and now it has! I know I was one of many who was cheering at the TV when Beckett showed up on Castle's doorstep dripping wet and telling him she needs him *swoons* Bout bloody time!

The opening scene for this season was just as good as the closing scene of last. Shirtless Castle, scantily clad Beckett, lots of innuendo... be still my beating heart, it's as good as I thought it would be! Oh the sexy banter! Boy, did I laugh when Castle freaked out about his Mum, Martha (Susan Sullivan) and daughter, Alexis (Molly C. Quinn) coming home while they were in bed. Beckett's evil eye as she hid in the closet and her own freak out when fellow cop, Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever) knocked on her front door were definite highlights for me.

The file! Think that's the last copy of it? I was a bit disappointed Cole Maddox (Tahmoh Penikett) - who I recognise from Dollhouse - died so quickly but I'm glad he didn't get a shot off because it looked like he would've killed Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas)! At least he went out with a bang.... *snickers* But then good ol' Horn-Rimmed Glasses Guy (Jack Coleman from Heroes!) shows up and we all know he's going to be this seasons Big Bad... and there we go, he killed Montgomery and Kate's mum... Smart move by Kate, bluffing over having the file and protecting herself, wonder how long that will last.

Great first episode back, it had everything I wanted to see!

5 out of 5 screws....
[Quote]
Castle: "Man, if we got murdered right now, I'd feel so ripped off!"
Beckett: "Yeah, me too."
Castle: "At least we had last night, we should've done that four years ago."
Esposito: "Done what four years ago?"
