TV: White Collar SE4 EP10

White Collar
Crime, Comedy, Drama

What was with the coffee intro? Weird... thought it might turn into the fly episode of Breaking Bad for a second there!

So wow! I was right and Sam (Treat Williams) is not really Sam.... He's Neal's (Matt Bomer) Dad! Woah... I didn't see it coming at first. I actually thought that Peter was right and that Sam was really a dirty cop and after the evidence box that Ellen (Judith Ivey) left because he was in there... Then about two seconds before they announced who he actually was, it struck me! This changes things doesn't it?

So what is Peter (Tim DeKay) going to do now? There's no walking the line on this one, he's either on Neal's side or the cops' side. But he won't know who to trust in the force so he's going to end up working with Neal, Mozzie (Willie Garson) and Sam/Dad. He's going to have to be very careful with this one... it could get him into a lot of trouble.

Ha! Neal really did cut Peter out at the beginning of this episode! His snarkiness made me chuckle, knew it wouldn't last long though. There was quite a few touching little moments between them in this ep, wasn't there? Peter saying he took the deal with Neal in the first place because he realised he actually liked him, when Peter thought that Neal had been shot and ran to help him, and finally; the scene at the conference where they were talking about saving each others butts. There was a whole heap of nawwww in there.

I love how Peter is not stupid and missing obvious things, like he always works out what Neal is up to. It might take him a few minutes but eventually he gets it. Meanwhile, Neal is pretty oblivious to how much Peter actually knows....I think. They really are a good match aren't they? It would be a major twist in the series if they suddenly made Peter one of the bad guys... that would be interesting!

Could have been better for a season finale... Didn't actually realise it was the finale until I went to look for the preview to post here... I guess the conclusion of this seasons arc will be in next season. That's a tad disappointing... and need I mention that ten episodes a season does not make, in my opinion. Slackers! Side note, I do love Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen)!

TV: White Collar SE4 EP8

White Collar
Comedy, Crime, Drama

Do we really think that Neal's (Matt Bomer) dad was a crooked cop? Or was he just set up? Ellen (Judith Ivey) said that they found a gun with his prints on it but what does that mean in shows like this? Absolutely diddly squat! Ellen being killed just made me think that someone is trying to stop Neal from finding out.

I'm a bit sceptical of this Sam (Treat Wiliams) character as well. Who is he really? It occurred to me that he might not actually be Sam. Neal did yell out his name in the cemetery at Ellen's funeral, anyone could have heard that. Just because he says that he knows Neal's dad doesn't mean he does, he hasn't given Neal any solid evidence to support it. I'm surprised Neal hasn't questioned it actually, he's normally pretty switched on. Mozzie (Willie Garson) is onto it though...

Yay! Alex (Gloria Votsis) is back! I was wondering where she went and why she hadn't reappeared. Well, besides the awkwardness of the whole Sara Ellis (Hilarie Burton) thing... I had no idea she was playing them but once they said so, I couldn't think of why it never occurred to me. Of course she would play Neal after he took off with the treasure and didn't invite her along. Hope she doesn't just disappear again, I really like her!

Neal is starting to get really frustrated with this whole situation, he's even snapping at Mozzie now, and the preview for the next episode looks like he cuts Peter (Tim DeKay) off! Woah, big stuff there. But what's on the tape goddamnit! I just knew they were going to cut the ep there, cheeky buggars!

Love that he forged a Banksy! Great job too. What a smart ass...

TV: White Collar SE1

White Collar
Comedy, Crime, Drama

I'm not a massive fan of cop shows, once you've seen one they're all pretty much the same, but seeing as there is a massive lull in new TV at the moment, I decided to give this one a try. I heard about it on Twitter through Eliza Dushku (Buffy, Angel), who guest stars in later seasons.

It's the story of a master forger, con man and all round white collar criminal, Neal Caffrey played by Matt Bomer (Magic Mike, Chuck). He escapes from prison with only a few months left on his sentence to find his runaway girlfriend, Kate. This sets the entire season one plot line. Where is Kate? Who has her? Why did she leave the bottle? Those and other questions and clues lead Caffrey on a whole season of wild goose chases.

I do have to say, I probably wouldn't have continued watching it if Matt Bomer wasn't so darn attractive... boy has a pretty face! Neal is a character though, I do enjoy his cheeky wit... and I'm still trying to figure out whether mentor FBI agent, Peter Burke - played by Tim DeKay (Carnivale) - is the good guy or not. I like how you're made to think he's the bad guy, then he explains the situation away and you see him as the good guy again. I'm still second guessing him... I love his wife as well, played by Tiffani Thiessan (Beverly Hills, 90210). How cool is she?

Then there's Mozzie - Willie Garson (Sex and The City) - and who knows what he's really up to!

I watched the whole of season one in just over a week. The season plot line - chasing Kate and trying to figure out who was holding her hostage - came to a different conclusion than I thought, but it still didn't really surprise me. I don't think Kate is dead, I think she was playing for the other team the whole way through, that she is the one who wants the box. She will reappear later for sure, maybe at the end of season two....

I'm still watching it though! It's one of those shows you can listen to and not pay a lot of attention. I cook while watching... or have it running in the background on my PC at work, listening and not watching.
