TV: True Blood (Finale)

True Blood
Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

I've been saying to the little sister since this last season began that everyone would die... well, that didn't happen. As soon as Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) was cured I realised there would be a stereotypical happy ending. I was actually terribly disappointed in the finale: it felt like they had just tacked an ending onto a normal episode, like they had only been given two episodes to wrap it all up instead of an entire season.

Highlights were the Eric and Ginger (Tara Buck) finally getting it on, Bill (Stephen Moyer) splooshing all over Sookie (Anna Paquin), Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Eric's infomercial for New Blood and Lafayette (Nelson Ellis) and James (Nathan Parsons). *swoons* Points of annoyance: Alcide (Joe Manganiello) copping it to the head - I know, not this episode but it still stings! - Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and Hoyt's (Jim Parrack) whirlwind wedding... how did that make any sense? Oh, Hoyt, by the way, we used to date but I screwed your best friend and then made you forget all about it... now let's get married before my maker keels over: true love! And the ending... ugh!

Special mention of the reappearance of show favourites: Nan Stackhouse (Lois Smith) and Steve Newlin (Michael McMillan).

Now that it's all over I have to find a new show to have family date nights with...

2 out of 5 naked Eric's...cos why the hell not?! Umph...

TV: True Blood SE5 EP12 - Finale

True Blood
Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

Welcome to the finale, where everyone is hoping all their questions will be answered! Well, guess what? They aren't... If anything, I walked away from this episode with even more questions. It seems they've veered off the plot lines of the books for good! What a great episode though! I laughed out loud so many times; so many one-liners, so many awesome things happened! Let's start shall we?

Russell (Denis O'Hare) is dead! I'm pretty darn sure that was the true death for him. It makes me a little sad that we wont see his crazy face any more... then again, you never know with True Blood, do you? I thought for a bit there that the fairy light thing wasn't going to do anything at all... what a strange death. There's a few of those throughout this episode... Did the light actually kill him or was it Eric with the stake? Pretty sure it was the fairy light... pretty sure!

Nora's (Lucy Griffiths) face when she smelt Sookie made me laugh. *screencaps* I love that Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) had no trouble holding her back from Sookie (Anna Paquin). Trust Eric to have a mountain of cash stashed in the walls of Fangtasia. What the hell is going on with Jason (Ryan Kwanten)? Is that just from the bump on the head or is he going to see his vampire hating imaginary parents forever?

My sister, Cassie and I spent ages trying to figure out whether it was Sam (Sam Trammell) or Luna (Janina Gavankar) that had shifted into Steve Newlin (Michael McMillan). I swore Sam wouldn't let Luna do it, she nearly died after the last time she shifted into another human. Why wouldn't he shift instead of Luna? Then I realized we'd gotten things a little mixed up; Sam isn't a Skinwalker, that was his brother Tommy (Marshall Allman)! Luna surely can't survive another skinwalk though... Can I also say, bravo Sam! Best death ever!

Bill (Stephen Moyerhas gone completely bonkers. We had no idea what he was up to when he told Salome (Valentina Cervi) that Lilith (Jessica Clark) has told him that she had been chosen, but now we all know what a big fat liar he is. All hail Billith!

Alcide (Joe Manganiello) is finally the pack-master! *fistpump* Where did Jackson 'Daddy' Herveaux (Robert Patrick) get this vamp blood and which vamp is it from I wonder...

So, Maurella (Kristina Anapau) eh? See her scoff that salt back like it was less that water? How calmly did Holly (Lauren Bowles) take the whole multiple babies being born out of a shiny fairy vag? Damn! Poor Andy (Chris Bauer), four brand new babies! And wow, Maurella's body just sprang back! Love it!

I could just keep going but then this post will be longer than I'm comfortable with... hell, it already is!

5 out of 5 quotations...
Jason: Something funny, Fanger.
Eric: Yes, Blood Bag.
Jason: Leach.
Eric: Breather.
Jason: Dead Fuck.
Eric: Meat Sack.
Sookie: Stop acting like children.

Eric to Jason: Oh sweetie, don't be a fool.

Sam: I tried reasoning but apparently he's lost his mother fucking mind.

Jessica: I'm telling you, they're worse than my uncle who started his own church. He told my cousins there was no Santa Clause when they were little just so that Jesus wouldn't have any competition.

Pam: One of the worst things about being immortal is having to watch the same stupid scenario happen over and over. It's usually the humans though. Guess this proves we're just as fucking retarded as they are.

Arlene: Who knew watching an alien give birth could be so comforting.
Lafayette: Are you kidding me? It's always the weird stuff that is the best!

Rosalyn: Compton and Salome are off buttering each other's biscuits half the time.

Eric: See what you've been missing working for the fucking authority?

Pam: What the fuck are you doing?
Tara: I'm getting you the fuck out of jail, bitch.
Pam: Wait, for what?
Tara: Eric and Nora to disarm and unlock everything
Pam: Nice plan.
Tara: Sure beats yours.

Jessica RE Pam & Tara: I knew it!

TV: True Blood SE5 EP11

True Blood
Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

Are they imagining everything to do with Lillith? If not then why the hell is she telling both Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Salome (Valentina Cervi) that she chooses both of them? Or is it just their inner thoughts wishing that she had chosen them? If that's the case, then why did Bill run away from it? This is all terribly confusing.

Bill is being such an asshole! I hope Eric bashes that crap out of him. Poor Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) thought she had escaped from her highly religious family the first time around, only to end up stuck with a born-again Bill. I thought she was doing a great job of convincing him that she had bought into it, I almost thought Bill had fallen for it! Damn eh?

I am so glad that Nora (Lucy Griffiths) has changed her tune and that Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) isn't really a Sanguinista. They are such lovely siblings... *snickers*

What a night for Jason (Aussie, Ryan Kwanten) too huh? Poor Jason. First some random supe is after his sister, then Jessica half tries to eat him and finally Russell (Denis O'Hare) glamours him to show him and Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) where the Fairies are! Holy crapola!

What are the humans going to do? What does our military have up their sleeves? The Sheriff that Tara (Rutina Wesley) killed was Rosalyn's (Carolyn Hennesy) progeny? Didn't see that coming, but Pam (Kristen Bauer van Straten) handing herself over was expected; she's only trying to get to Eric and Eric and Nora have escaped but where have they gone? Don't worry though, Sam (Sam Trammel) and Luna (Janina Gavankar) are there.... Things are all over the place aren't they?

Who the hell is Warlow?!? And did you see Russell take out that Fairy Elder?! This episode is warming up to one hell of a season finale! Bring it!

TV: True Blood SE5 EP9

True Blood
Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

Only three episodes left of this season! I hate how short these seasons are! It was also the last time my little sister Cassie can join me for True Blood Mondays *sob* Now, Cass and I have both read the books and we've been able to follow every season so far, except this one. This season is not in the books at all! I speculated to Cass that maybe they threw this season in as a wild card to keep us readers guessing... I mean, what fun is it to know what's going to happen every week?

Sam Trammell is so amazing, his performances constantly blow my mind. We've seen him play a few people other than Sam now and he does so well every time. He has those movements down pat, he was very much playing Luna in the last episode and I remember quite vividly when he was playing Sam's little brother; he had that swagger walk. So good! I might go hunt down some other things he's been in.

The "I love you" scene between Luna (Janina Gavankar) and Sam had me giggling. That's what love is, you yell and scream and bitch and moan at each other. But damn, Luna has turned into a hard ass, hasn't she? I thought she was going to kill the Dragon for a second there! Boy is she going to be majorly pissed off when she finds out that Emma has been taken by Russell and Steve, or what?! Wonder what big bad animal she can shift into to take care of them?

Bill, you tosser! What the hell are you doing? They've all been bloody brainwashed by Lilith's tasty, tasty blood....literally! I've never liked Bill - movie or book - and this just proves it. Has anyone else thought that Lilith is very reminiscent of Aaliyah's portrayal of Akasha in Queen of the Damned?

Sheriff Dearborn (William Sanderson).... What the hell!?! This totally shocked me, he's a good guy! Well, he was...

Good on Terry (Todd Lowe), he did the right thing; that bastard deserved to die.

And who the hell is that guy claiming to be the new Sheriff of Area 5? Huh?

TV: True Blood SE5 EP7

True Blood
Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

So disappointed that Guardian (Chris Meloni) is gone, he was so good! Damnit! I am really confused by this episode, I have absolutely no idea what's going on.

Russell (Denis O'Hare) born again? Are you kidding me? Love his character and Denis is just so amazing at it. I find myself giggling at nearly everything he says. Glad he's back this season. Nora (Lucy Griffiths) really is a Sanguinista! I really wanted her to be lying or a little batty from the exposure to UV... *sigh* I knew Salome (Valentina Cervi) was in on it somehow... oh, look, she was the one who dug Russell up, fancy that!

I have absolutely no idea what is going on with this whole Sanguinista stuff... not the slightest...

Claude (Giles Matthey); what do ya'll think? I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have read the books. Are you as disappointed in him and Claudette (Camilla Luddington) as Cassie and I were? They are supposed to be tall and beautiful and I always pictured them with auburn hair and green eyes. Claude is short and he's not that hot.... There is an over-abundance of hotness in this show I 'spose... The club is almost exactly like I pictured, though I didn't expect it to be in the middle of a field. It was in Shreveport in the books, wasn't it? (It's been a while since I read them.)

So Sookie (Anna Paquin) can be a normal girl! What do you think, should she? She is a bit off her rocker this season... but I don't think turning human will stop all the crazy stuff that happens around her... and who knows what else it will do to her? I think she would still taste just as delicious to vamps...

Tara as a vampire is kinda disturbing me. Her wardrobe is gross, come on! Leather bikini? Really? Rutina Wesley is way too buff to pull it off... it makes her look a bit transvestitey... They need to cover her more, she needs the mystery. Loving the relationship between Tara and Pam, they are gonna be great together! I did keep expecting Pam to come out with "I'm your mother now". *snickers*

Speaking of mystery, what the hell was with the trip on Liliths blood? Where are they going with this? Love the reappearance of Godric (Allan Hyde), he has to be one of my favourite characters. I hope he appears more often! There was never enough Godric for me. *swoons* The stopping of the taxi driver had me in fits for ages! So funny, screen capped especially for this post.

Love True Blood as always!

TV: True Blood SE5 EP5

True Blood
TV, Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

I am totally going to watch this episode again! Best episode this season. Thank goodness it picked up, I was a bit worried there that I wasn't going to like this season at all. Best introduction ever! My little sister Cassie and I laughed our guts up and then hated on Sookie cos she got all three of those hot assed men. *fans self*

Lafayette is a total wild card. If you've read the books then you know that he died wayyy back when in the first season, so now anything could happen with him. I do feel terribly sorry for him, poor fella lost his boyfriend and his cousin in the same night and now he's got Jesus' brujo that's just a recipe for disaster.

And what the hell with Jesus' head?!? I had jokingly said to Cassie that maybe he would come back as a zombie seeing as when he appeared to Lafayette he said something along the lines of.. "Nothing is forever". Was I right? In saying that though, I'm glad Jesus is still around, he's one of my favourite characters, and Lafayette's mother - Ruby Jean - has something to do with all this... I speculate that it's because she has the sight or whatever it is that Lafayette has... But how did Jesus' head appear to both of them?

What supernatural being is going to appear next? Haven't they run out of strange new creatures yet? Apparently not because now there's an ifrit. At least we found out what was going on with Terry and his army buddies, that was a bit of a quizzical plot line to me. So maybe Mavis didn't set the fire in their house, maybe the ifrit did and then Mavis just saved the baby? What do you think?

I love Pam, she has always been my absolute favourite character - even in the books. Kristin Bauer van Straten is such a perfect fit for her! And can we have a round of enthusiastic applause for her wardrobe department? Bravo! She always looks amazing, even when she was wearing that hideous pink tracksuit set. *shudders*

Alan Ball - you bloody genius - thanks for putting in all those awesome Pam quotes we can't help but giggling at. You are freaking amazing!

Best episode this season!

5 out of 5 blood suckers....

Suggestion Sunday: Griff The Invisible (2010)

Griff The Invisible

This is an Australian film and I luuuuurve watching Aussie movies! It stars Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) which is a win all in itself and is about a strange young man named Griff who fancies himself a vigilante super hero, complete with awesome self designed leather superman suit!

I loved the idea as soon as I saw the preview, it reminded me a lot of Kick-Ass without the sarcasm. What I didn't realize is that the movie is not just about Griff's extracurricular activities, but it's also a love story. It was interesting to see how this strange young man was so alienated by his night-time activities. He had no friends, lost his job, etc. The highlight for me is the relationship between him and his love interest, Melody, and how Griff deals with the office bully - classic!
I think I might have missed some major plot points in this one, so I might rewatch it, which I actually wouldn't mind doing!

4 out 5 Superheroes!

TV; True Blood SE5 EP4

True Blood
Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

I've taken to watching True Blood on a Monday evening with my little sister-in-law, Cassie (who is just amazing, take a look at her youtube *fans self*) and then a few weeks later rewatching them with my mum, which I absolutely love! Cass and I swoon over Alexander Skarsgard and Joe Manganiello, while Mum and I giggle over every sobbing face we see. Seriously, how often do those actors have to put on the tears?!

I have to say that I've loved this series so far. I watched the first season and was hooked just the same as everyone else, and immediately ordered all the books - Yes, for those who haven't realized, I read as well! I own eight of the set and swear I read one every couple of days until I had caught up. Needless to say, if you have read the books, the show is slightly different.

Last season I knew what to expect, this season I'm not so sure. The return of Russell was expected but I thought he would have stayed in the ground longer. I wonder who pulled him out. I have to say that I half thought he'd clawed himself free of his cement grave and until Bill and Eric started searching for who had rescued him, the thought hadn't even occurred to me. Now I wonder, who do you think? Maybe one of the Authority? But who knew that Russell was there?

After seeing tonight's episode, it occurred to Cass and I that maybe this season would be about the Fairy War that happened in the books? Alcide seems to be on the right track with the pack, and the Fairy club might have been Claudes? Readers, what do you think?

What the hell is going on with the Authority? Have I forgotten something from the books? Its been a while since I read them so maybe I'm missing something. Are they meant to represent the entire hierarchy of Kings and Queens? I do have to admit that I want to see the Vampire conference happen, but is this supposed to be it? Stabler looks freaking fantastic dripping in blood though, doesn't he? *dreamy sigh*

Tara being a vampire and Pam being a maker; both thoughts are as crazy as the other! Tara hates vampires, obviously denying the nature of being one; while Pam is the flip-side, flaunts being a vampire and is actually a pretty good teacher as it turns out! I really have been enjoying her flashbacks though and the goodbye scene between her and Eric was touching. Eric is so swoon worthy!

And finally, Terry. There is little to no mention of him in the books and honestly, up until now, I didn't think he had a script worthy story line in his character... ha! Interesting! But supernatural? It would be more surprising if it wasn't!

I hate waiting a week for this show!

5 out 5 sparkly blood suckers.
